Hello. Just for your information, they were pilot whales in that loch. I was one of the skippers who ran climbers/hikers in to the steps. It’s very rare for this to happen, but it does on occasion. Great video 😊

@ 4:38 You're in Scotland. There's no need to tell us it's raining. 😏 If you go past Scotland on the way south, pull into Vatersay Bay in the Outer Hebrides. It's just across the water from Skye. This sheltered bay and the nearby Castlebay town and small marina are a great place for a rest and some shopping. Vatersay Bay is also perfect for parking your boat on the beach, to check the anodes, rudder, etc. Ask for details if interested. Regards, Rick.

LoL 😀 you so right, however we where lucky must of the times. We actually stopped in Castle Bay on our way north, think it was in April. And we did see Vatersay, and next time we are in the neighborhood we will for sure anchor there 🙏🏻

@@bushpoint I'm glad to hear you had the chance to visit Castlebay. It's a lovely little town and marina. You would have met the marina manager Asti, who is also the taxi driver. He received delivery of a parcel for us, then brought it to the beach at Vatersay Bay, where we were anchored. Amazing help from the local people. Yes, if you're going that way again, definitely stop for a rest at Vatersay Bay. Some evenings we would watch as 10 or 15 boats came in to anchor. There's room for 100 yachts, in a beautiful and protected location. But make sure you have internet with the UK's telco 'EE', which works best in the Scottish Western Isles. By the way, we also had lots of lovely sunshine in Scotland, though that was in high summer!

Absolutely beautiful. Great weather, which is so rare. Reminds me of getting to St. Kilda once on a lovely calm and sunny day - having tried twice in previous years, but been beaten by the weather.

Glad you enjoyed Scotland… Loch Scavaig and Loch Coruisk are spectacular… If you find yourselves sailing in the Hebrides again I can recommend visiting the Southern end of Harris, Luskentyre with its amazing sandy beach is another contender for best anchorage in Scotland

Thank you! That’s a very generous offer! We where in Porto 2016 and loved it, very nice town and a good marina. We might go down that way next year, so you never know :-) As always, sailing plans are written in sand at low tide.
