Ok Storytime Back when Made in the Abyss was just a manga, it was almost canceled because people thought it and the art style was too cute they also believed it was boring. But the Author knew what he was doing with the art style and was keeping it a quiet and top secret from his own publishers and readers it was also why it was almost Canceled the publishers gave the Author an Ultimatum either make the manga sell or get fired so the author then decided whelp time to unveil the secret and go all out!!!!!!! when Volume 3 of Made in the Abyss hit stands and bookstores in Japan in 2015 it sold a lot of copies and caught the attention of studio anime Kinema Citrus. Made in the Abyss aired on July 7th, 2017 to two point five million+ viewers around the world it became Anime of the Year in 2017. Season one covers Manga Volumes 1-3 in 13 episodes Enjoy.

This is still one of the greatest first episodes of anime, and pretty much the perfect first episode to a fantasy show. The way it introduces its absolutely fascinating world is brilliant, and that last scene with the music and the narration gives me goosebumps every single time

I've been struggling to read the ones in the death note reactions sometimes, because it blends in so heavily whenever the background is light colored or white-ish.
