I went to Vienna, Austria on a business trip for Mash's work☆I enjoyed the cafes and other places before and after work... I personally recommend Vienna so much! I haven't been able to visit the tourist attractions at all, so I would like to go back there again slowly.

My favorite also, Imperial Torte in Vienna and I guess the best in the world. 2nd.best chocolate pastry is in Paris, the name is l'opera!

I stayed at The Imperial Hotel in Vienna, but did the typical trying Sacher torte, at The Sacher Hotel instead. I'm sure that I had it more than one time while there. We also did a side trip for a couple of days to Prague. I loved Vienna, I even wanted to buy a traditional Austrian complete clothing outfit for women. Just to have it all. I don't know about now, but back then were even worn at night to go out. I remember a light drizzling rain on my head, almost the whole time I was there. Sometimes used an umbrella, but most of the time didn't bother to do so. I think that I saw everything important to see while I was there, including on the outskirts . It's magnificent.

Fun fact: The Hotel Sacher was a very popular den of iniquity for royal aristocrats and wealthy courtesans. Did you see the red velvet and the blue velvet waiting rooms with the portraits hanging on the walls? The portraits are mostly of those who were highly sought after and very costly, ahem, errrmm "escorts"... 😉

As an Austrian I agree wonderful locations. The bad thing is that they are so overcrowded mainly by tourist wich is absolutely ok that we go elsewhere. Its not common in Austria to stand in line to enter a coffee house. 😀

My late wife always remarked that, to her, Vienna was the most romantic and sophisticated major city in Europe, with Paris as an also-ran! One of its notable distinctions is its suave café culture, or Kaffehauskultur. Sacher certainly is a leading member of this family, but so are: Jelinek's, Dommayer's, and that ultimate Hofzuckerbäckerei, der Demel.

Vienna is the last bastion of civility. I'm glad that these people enjoyed their Sacher torte. In 1988 I had a piece. It was so dry! But I prefer Demel coffee house near the lipizzaner horse arena. And the best dessert in Vienna is Apple Strudel. This is nothing like what you get in North America. My grandmother was from Vienna and she taught me how to make the Viennese strudel. The dessert is made with high gluten flour so that the dough can be rolled and pulled until it's the thickness of a cigarette paper. One recipe of dough covered a big round oak table. Next was the butter; little knows covering the dough. Then the thin slices of apple, some cinnamon and/or nutmeg. It was easy to roll up because the dough was on a big round tablecloth. She started by lifting one edge of the cloth and letting in thin dough fold over and over. There are many layers that, when baked were feather light and crisp and I could feel the love gram put in each piece. Some recipes call for bread crumbs or raisins or both. If you order apfelstudel make sure you ask for it with whipping cream ( "mit shlag" ). Such a wonderful place.

こんにちわ、Mashさん髪切られたんですね。日本でも今髪切る人多いんですよ。それからカメラ変えましたか・・ 今までも綺麗な映像でしたが、今回それに輪をかけて「世界遺産」かNHKの撮影くらい綺麗ですね。5つ星ホテルも 素晴らしいですが、世界一美しいカフェにはド肝を抜きました。今まで世界でみた中で一番美しいです。映像がとても 綺麗でユーチューブにはもったいないくらいです。美術史美術館の映像もあれ程までに美しかったかなと、思い出しましたが こんな美しいゴージャスな空間で結婚式を挙げられたお二人の方は大満足でしょうね。ハリウッドスターの結婚式シーンか 英国王室の結婚式かと思うくらい素敵でした。オーストラリアに行ったら絶対行ってみます。

Danke für dieses interessante Video über Wien! Ich war leider noch nicht dort,aber ich liebe Altstädte, Kunst und gutes Essen, besonders Kuchen! Die Sachertorte sieht wirklich sehr lecker aus!!! Aber Würstchen nach dem Kuchen zu essen ist schon etwas komisch, auch wenn im Magen alles zusammen kommt. Ich finde es toll,wie begeisterungsfähig ihr seid! Ich bin da auch so! Wie lange wart ihr in Wien? Reichen da auch 3 Tage um das Beste von Wien zu sehen? Vielleicht fahre ich in der Weihnachtszeit mal hin.

14～5年前だったか、ウィーンに行った時のことを懐かしく思い出しました。多くの方が書かれてますが、私たちもデメルのザッハトルテを食べて、その甘さにびっくりしたものです（そうそう、横浜高島屋にも、デメル出店してますよ）。 ウィーンは音楽の街、モーツァルトをはじめ、ヨハン・シュトラウスのウィンナワルツも有名（お正月のＮＨＫウィーンフィルニューイヤーコンサート生中継！）、のだめカンタービレで留学先がウィーン（原作では。アニメではパリになっている笑）なのも納得です。 Mashさんのビデオで改めて、ウィーンの街の美しさに感動しました！

Très belle vidéo qui me rappelle mes propres souvenirs de Vienne. Plusieurs visites de la capitale autrichienne, à l'opéra pour voir "Le lac des cygnes", au moment de Noël et ses décorations magnifiques, à Pâques (le marché des oeufs de Pâques), et à chaque fois, évidemment, j'allais déguster l'incontournable Sachertorte à l'hôtel Sacher et aussi chez Demel. Une fois, j'ai ramené la grande Sachertorte de l'hôtel Sacher pour l'offrir à ma soeur à Paris, elle a attendu longtemps avant d'ouvrir la boîte, et lorsqu'elle l'a ouverte, la Sachertorte était moisie... Que de gâchis ! Une autre fois, j'avais acheté des coffrets cadeaux à la maison Demel (biscuits, confiture etc.) et au contrôle à l'aéroport, un agent m'a confisqué les jolis pots de confiture... et ne m'a laissé que le coffret en bois en souvenir !

The cream to the coffee and Sachertorte is freshly made, so it’s not sweet like the ones you buy at the supermarket. In the summer i often enjoy ice cream in a bowl with fresh fruits and cream. It tastes wonderful 😊

You drove me crazy with all that goody food. I have been in Wien 1990 and the coffee houses looked a little different in those days, not the same decoration more older with big comfortable big chairs beautiful little tables mor the feeling of the old Wien, you could imagine all the Philosophers and famous writers sitting next to you. The smell of cigarettes mixed with odor of the cafe and the cakes.Well those were the days my friend. Thanks alot. You really enjoyed the Sacher Torte.
