Don't feel bad about being unaware. The American music industry has done a great job of gatekeeping its charts and radio and doing everything in its power to keep the "others" in their place, so to speak.

Because you're in the music industry, I recommend this video, "why the music industry is terrified of bts" from the channel, Boracity magazine, that shows well how they struggled and overcame challenges in the American music market. It demonstrates how the Western music industry, including Billboard, tried to exclude BTS, but how BTS and ARMY are making their way through that path. "BTS vs radio" from the same channel is also have good quality! It shows the reality where BTS, having refused payola, is receiving a score close to zero in radio spins. (Payola refers to the illegal practice of paying for airplay on radio stations. )

I truly believe BTS found me. It was the pandemic and I was going through the hardest year of my life, losing my dad and uncle to horrific and dehumanizing diseases in the hell of a global nightmare. I had heard of BTS and even saw their first US performance of DNA at the BillBoard Music Awards, but at the time thought, boy bands are for kids. I started by listen to Dynamite on the way to the hospital, cuz it was on the radio, and it really lifted my spirits and gave me hope that life would be happy again oneday. I feel very emotionally responsible for my family. It was so hard to be helpless at that time. I dunno what happened but one day J-Hope showed up in my youtube searches like an angel, luring me into this world. Those 7 crack heads (you'll understand someday) gave me the strength to get through that time and continue to comfort me in ways that I can't explain. BTS always finds you when you need them the most. 💜

Instant fan of your channel…welcome to the rabbit hole. I found BTS because my daughter was a fan and I couldn’t understand the obsession. Then I took her to her first BtS concert and I was so blown away I came home and started down the rabbit hole. The next time we went to see them it was for me. They are such humble guys and such an inspiration. Now, my husband has recently passed, and they are part of the reason I get thru the day by giving me something positive to look at and laugh with. Look forward to your journey💜

@@frankiebiggznot saying they're not hating on you cause they very well might be but I suggest using papago it's a website & app that translates korean much better as Google translate can not be trusted. there's a high chance they were hating im not dismissing that at all but I've seen korean armys, korean people who aren't fans and even bts and other korean celebrities get misunderstood due to Google translate not translating what they said at all either flipping it from positive to negative or even saying stuff not even close to what bts or the korean person said. one time on Twitter it translate bts saying a slur and it was so far off from what bts said they weren't even related at all to what bts said. I've seen korean armys who aren't fluent in English say something like you're beautiful or pretty or something of a compliment and it would change it to the most insulting crass thing ever to the point huge army translators would have to defend them for the fans to realize the translation set them up. so just keep this in mind copy paste into papago to have a better idea if the person is hating or attacking you or not. like I said its not to dismiss your feelings at all but I've seen too many mistranslated comments tweets etc from korean to English that I pause my anger to double check. and this can apply to other languages too I've seen issues with many Asian languages or languages that dont derive from Latin letters. so Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, hindi, Russian, Indonesian, Arabic etc and I also see it happen with languages that do use Latin letters like Spanish and Portuguese, German, Italian etc not as often but does happen so try to keep this in mind especially as more armys find you and love your channel many may mean no harm and translation makes them look bad when complimenting. also keep in mind those who just use the translation to act like someone speaking another language I don't know how to tell the difference I think it's difficult if you don't know the languages but I see people called out all the time for acting like they're korean or Spanish-speaking or Thai etc they're called out by real speakers told to stop using Google translate because they can tell the difference between learned language vs Google etc I don't mean to make you doubt positive or negative comments your reactions to them are valid but just wanted you aware of some issues in case it does end up being a misunderstanding etc 💜💜

All members were interviewed, with JK appearing on the program twice. As he did very well and to suit the members' schedules he interviewed other celebrities too.

When BTS started breaking records, the American music industry blocked the media from broadcasting....Hybe wanted to remain independent and not "pay" the radios....the rise of BTS was done through social networks and that did not please the leaders of the American music industry...That's also a bit why there are still a lot of people who ignore the success of BTS...Despite their "break" the solo members achieve the same feats and their return in 2025 will have the effect of a steamroller...This month BTS was ranked among the 25 best artists of the "CENTURY" by Billboard!! Currently there are regular attacks against the members trying to separate BTS before they come back but these attacks fail thanks to the global strength of the Fandom ARMY!! This Rice Squad BTS video essay is one of my top favorite videos about the BTS story. Some fans don't fully like it because it does not talk too much about the hate to fully encompass the voyage these 7 guys have gone through, but that's ok as other essays fill that part of the story in, although this essay does hint about some of the negatives, such as in the Grammys/Scammys section. What this essay does best is to magnify the positives of BTS' journey through their industry accolades, records & numbers that they have accumulated in a short amount of time & you can tell that talking about it worked based on Frank's facial responses of shock & awe, heh. Many past KZbin reactors have had the same surprised responses from this essay. Unfortunately, as much as Rice Squad has already updated this essay once or twice already, a couple years have since already passed since the last update & BTS has done a lot again in that stretch of time, so the essay is starting to get more & more obsolete, unless Rice Squad decides to update it again in the future. There is a funny moment I noticed in this reaction video in the beginning, where when Yoongi's photo popped up, Frank's cat also popped into view immediately, suggesting that Frank's cat knows another fellow cat (i.e. Suga, aka "Lil Meow Meow") when it sees one. 09/22/24

These documentaries always make it sound like he was a clueless beautiful guy who just wanted to act. In fact, Jin has said that he loves performing. Period. He is a dynamo on stage. So far he has never sought to act because he is happy performing at concerts. [But who knows what the future will bring?]

BTS found me in Feb of 2022. This all happened because of youtube exploration I was doing all on my own. I honestly had NEVER heard of them. I asked my daughters and my brother why they had never told me about them. It appeared that no one thought I would be interested, so they hadn't bothered. I still get sad (and annoyed) when I think about all the time I missed with them, but I have accepted it. And I sympathize with all of you that feel the same way.

Welcome to the ARMY Frankie, nice to have you here:) I became ARMY in 2021 when I was deeply depressed and almost ended it there...but somehow BTS appeared in my life and Kim Namjoon and Min Yoongi talked to me through their lyrics, their songs and healed me. I'm ARMY ever since the first MV I saw from them. As a non-Korean ARMY I recommend you Boracity Magazin channel, she has the best video essays, one of my favorites is 100 BTS moments for the history books. Also as someone who always listened to music but never really knew how the industry works, the same channel has a video called Why the music industry is terrified of BTS, which was an eye-opener for me. Enjoy your journey with BTS!

I understand if you never heard of BTS because the industry (both Korea and USA) always try to hide them because the success of BTS is without their help (they don't get anything from BTS). Please watch "Why the music industry is terrified of BTS". BTS winning the billboard chart also because of ARMY then after winning so many times, Billboard always change the rule to push BTS down. BTS' success is organic. They know that their success is because of ARMY and they show their appreciation to ARMY as well and make a lot of songs for ARMY. That's why the bond between BTS and ARMY are strong.

That feeling of asking where you were when all this was happening is such a universal feeling for those of us who became ARMY after their popularity became legendary status. I became an ARMY in January 2019 and boy did I feel like I missed out. However, I know we are not anywhere near the end of their careers and their upcoming reunion and subsequent comeback will blow everything they've done before out of the water. I'm so excited and I hope you are, too! We are in for an exciting time!!

It's true, most of the armys met BTS at a difficult time, there are many reports, whenever I'm depressed, I listen to "Tomorrow". Many times, they become our foundation and help us without even knowing it. I feel like I met them at the right time and I'm glad I did.

The funny thing about LV, they were the only designer willing to pay that price. Because it's 7 of them. Not that others didn't want them. As soon as BTS went to the military and the boys released their solo work; they all got Ambassadorships separately. Jin was just in Milan this week saving Gucci ass!!! He looked amazing. He was the VVVIP!! Not saying that because I'm ARMY. Check out some scenes from that. He carried the whole thing.

Don't worry if you're not aware of them sooner. A lot of people also the same😅. I'm a 52yo mom from South East Asia. I can say that almost none of my friends know BTS especially the guys including my husband. There's this perception that kpop is only for teenagers so older generation like me doesn't even care to give BTS or kpop in general a chance. At some point, i also stuck in the 80's😅😂. Language also is another barrier. I saw some western reactors complaining about having to read subtitles. Language wise is not a big issue for us here since we've been exposed to foreign entertainment since we were born😅. I hope you continue to enjoy your BTS journey and probably some day got the chance to meet the boys ☺👍.

You never heard about them because the Western music industry presented them as a niche Pop group with crazy 15-year-old screaming fans trying to recreate the success of One Direction. Easily dismissed and will be gone soon. As an ARMY from 2018 on, I can say that that Is so far from the truth, but even now they’re presented that way in the West. The story you heard from an ARMY about BTS saving them is common. Most of us have a similar story and that's why "BTS finds you when you need them most" is a phrase you hear often amongst ARMYs. As for their sales numbers being so massive when it's uncommon anymore, ARMYs have realized that the best way to support them and to ensure they are free to make the music they want to make is to buy their music. So we do. It's also a way we can help them do better on the charts because they don't get a lot of radio play.

They did all that on the power of ARMY *BUYING* their music because they have traditionally refused to pay for radio because they view it as payola. ARMY at this point understand that streaming isn't paying artists jacksht, so we make it a point of buying their music. They also make their albums worth purchasing--they come with photo books and posters and all kinds of nice little extras. Since I have been educated by being an ARMY, I make a point of buying music from artists I support.

I would like to clarify that the group was not formed by RM, but by the company. He was simply the first and the members were selected for him. In 2010 it was RM and Suga, in 2011 J-HopeJin, Jungkook and V, in 2012 Jimin.

@@ВалентинаЗахаркина-у2щ RM and Suga were pivotal. They were not just trainees. In a recent interview Training and Developemwhat SAID its department based its programmes on what RM did with BTS. They said that! They also said who they chose as trainees was also completely differrent now. That they chose people passionate about music not necessarily the most experienced best trained already. Its RM went to management after J Hope left to tell them they needed yo do whatever it takes to get him back as BTS could not succeed without him. I’m not crying. You’re crying!!😭 Why’d you have to give such a beautiful ending statement to this video. Thank you. I wasn’t going to comment but what she said is true. BTS really does find you when you need them most. I’ve gone through multiple layoffs since the end of 2019 (Army as of New Year’s Eve Times Square 2019/2020 when they sang Make it Right) and sometimes it feels like they’re a big part of why I’m still here & haven’t given up on myself yet. I was seeing lots of hate towards you on X/Twt after that are you sure eps with Taehyung. But I had already seen a couple of your other reactions to BTS & some of Tae’s songs and I could tell you liked his music & had an open mind still. I truly wish I could get those haters to watch this latest reaction & the one to the BTS hardships. They would surely change their tune. Please keep up the great reactions. I always appreciate hearing insights from someone within the industry. (One of their producers, International Sleep/Sleep Deez - “My Time”sung by Jungkook, also just started posting reactions on here. Basically trying to turn a buddy into Army too😂). Heads-up if you don’t want a copyright strike from Hybe, make sure to show the BigHit intro at beginning of their music videos. And some of their reality shows may get blocked, having a Patreon page is a great place to share those if that happens. ALSO I cracked up at your amazement re the Louis Vuitton representation, because EACH of the guys are now individually Global Ambassadors for multiple fashion houses & fine jewelers: Jin - Gucci & Fred RM - Bottega Venetta Suga - Valentino & the Global Ambassador for the freakin NBA!!! JHope - Louis Vuitton, on his own Jimin - Christian Dior & Tiffany’s Jungkook - Calvin Klein Taehyung /V - Cartier & Celine Now imagine will you, that they used to wear fake Versace to showcases because they couldn’t afford the real thing. My how far they’ve come. Thanks again for the GREAT reaction. Keep em coming 💜 보라해 💜

I get the copyright for the music anyway (not the video), my wife is a copyright lawyer so she's on my a** for that too. In some instances I am going to have to mute some music because it blocks territories as well, but I figure it's all about the reaction to the guide and what it's explaining. Know that I can hear the music in my reactions! Just that I have to mute it in some instances or leave it really low volume!! Don't feel bad. They don't want you to know about BTS and all that matters is that you're here now. Just know that BTS achieved those number 1s with practically no radio spins. Life goes on got 4 radio spins if you can believe it. BTS refuse to do payola and so their success is truly down to BTS, HYBE and Army. Army earnestly did a whole campaign to try and get radio stations to play their music, BTS went to the stations and got asked the most asinine questions by people that did no research and at the end of the day those stations saw BTS as a joke and barely played their music. Even now they keep moving the goal post to stop BTS from achieving on the Billboard Charts.

BTS like all groups have conflict but they are very mature about how they handle it. They don’t discourage disagreements but they have to discuss and the conflict and resolve with all team members together even if the conflict was just between two members. RM has said that being in a group is like being in a boat with all members looking out in different directions but that they all have the same goal or destination in mind. They showed an argument between Jin and V in the BTS documentary Burn the Stage which really made me respect them even more. After so many years together they are “blood brothers”.
