I can't even imagine having that vision or where to start - but when Tom said it didn't happen overnight - it has been over 30 years - and one plant at a time, how true. Yea! I have been waiting for this video. I don't even know where to begin, I have so many thoughts.....thank you Jim, thank you Ram, thank you Dr. Giberson! I'll give you two thoughts. 1.) Really enjoyed hearing about how Ram and Tom met and settled down in Athens, GA. 2.) Per Ram, totally not true that if you plant a lot, you have to water a lot. If you plant in stories, they all work with each other bringing food to the root. "Don't be scared, your plant needs friends." (Haha. Good one, Ram!) This was a light bulb moment for me. I have always viewed more plants as more work. But really, over time, it's the forest floor. It's nature. Thanks, Jim. I learned a lot.

I just found this and OMG I am so in love with this beautiful gardens and ponds you have created. When you said you found your passion I totally understand. I have that passion also. I am currently 77 but my daughter who knows nothing about gardens but loves to look at them is allowing me to transform her property to whatever I desire. I see that there are so many new gardeners, and they should know that the pleasure of it is in the building, the saving up for a new tree or idea or addition to the garden that is so fulfilling. If everything was move in ready with your garden, what’s the fun of that? Some of my best successes have been years after what I thought would work-didn’t…and the garden and my experience grew into a better way, better idea, the lead-in to something else…. We have a similar personal story coming from 2 countries, and buying 4 acres of mountain trees/bush 34 years ago and building our garden plant by plant, area by area, ripping areas out when plants no longer liked and redoing over and over.
