Bakery on the Water is the best spot for breakfast if you can get there before everyone flocks to it! Grab a frothy coffee and sit in the back garden area alongside a small rushing river with rhododendrons all around... magical.

Having seats outside is a huge southern thing. We have wrap around porches and go out after dinner to relax and have iced tea (or for me, a diet coke).

Giant Joel! I remember seeing a Civil War uniform in a museum and marveling at how small it was. People were shorter in former days. When Joel said that he'd go for a paddle if people wouldn't stare I thought, what a very British thing to say! Next time you come to America you have to visit a similar place. It's called Bourbon-on-the-Water.

Lia the malicious midget 😆 That village is absolutely stunning. I can see why it was so busy with people walking around. The weather looked great and all the buildings and shops look amazing. I remember Joel posting on his channel showing those vintage books that were tied together and he couldn't see what some of the other books were.

Thank you for taking us with you! I liked that you show the town as it really is - with all those tourists around. When you see the photoshopped pictures on Instagram it often seems that the Cotswolds consist of quiet sleepy villages only. I think I would have been disappointed if I had not watched your video. But I'd still go there. Perhaps on a rainy day. That might keep some folks at home ... 😅

Don't bank on it, the cotswold towns and villages are surounded by farmland, and often they all come into town in their Land Rover's.

I’m a driver for Waitrose and deliver to Bourton often. If you ask any of the customers if they have been to the village that day. They always say they never go there as it’s so busy.

One thing that fascinates me is that you can travel all around the world and find NY Yankees hats. In this video, Joel wears one. Joel, just FYI, if you ever make it to Boston, that hat will provoke the ire of the natives. There’s a strong rivalry between Boston and NY baseball teams and you’ll find out all about it wearing that hat in the wrong places! Most people will joke about it but some get pretty hostile.

That nettle pretty much looks like the 'Burning Weed' we have here in the Midwest of America. The solution for our weed is literally spit. Th enzymes in saliva kills the poisons that sting you, so when you brush against one you sort of have to immediately slather yourself in the spit, and it almost magically vanishes on contact. Sort of gross, but better than the alternative.

I guess I tend to think of you guys as city kids but I must remind myself where you grew up. I'm impressed you knew what to do for the nettle sting. I don't know if our stinging nettles are the same as yours but jewel weed usually grows near it here and that helps. Good gosh how I hate nettles! I remember discovering them as a kid.....and they grow really tall here. 😣 (For reference, as I always seem to mention, I'm in north central WV. But, I'm pretty sure the blasted things are everywhere. Lol!)

I’d be interested in watching a tour and learning about some of the old historical sites in England, such as the Tower of London, Big Ben, Windsor Castle, Buckingham, Stonehenge, Balmoral etc. Also would like to see the tombs of some of the old kings and queens and historical figures such as Winston Churchill, Isaac Watts, etc! Retirement property???? That's new, can you explain to this Yank? I grew up in a house with a skeleton key for the front door. Over 120 years old now, I still have the key in my china cabinet but lock was replaced when someone young jerks broke into it. It's called where's Waldo here in states.
