The Most BORING Dragon Ball Z Game

Today's video is all about a Dragon Ball Z game I was looking forward to playing but after spending over 8 hours playing it I found it to be the most boring Dragon ball game I have ever made
Dragonball z Kakarot was not the game i was expecting but that doesn't mean it's bad but for me it's just so boring.
These are my thoughts explaining why.

100% correct. The problem with this game isn't the premise, it's the execution. They simply failed to execute on the RPG and fighting mechanics. If they had made those properly, the rest of the open world, the fetch quests, wouldve been fine. But the most crucial part of the game, the RPG and fighting, was what was broken.

Being a budokai tenkaichi fan for years it really hit me in the gut when I noticed just how completely STALE the combat is. You got to do like one of the two combos you can, then ANY TIME they pull out the red aura you can’t do ANYTHING to make them budge. You’re just stuck staring at them until they’re done so you can have another few moments to do the same combo, maybe do one super, then they’re back in that god awful red aura charge and you can’t to ANYTHING again except dodge. Who genuinely finds that entertaining when the source material is all about BOMBASTIC, devastating battles for the fate of the world?

You're right on the money with this. It was just a visually polished Xenoverse. I expected more enemy variety, and more unique fights. When Radditz is your best boss fight, you goofed hard. All bosses felt the same.

I waited for it to be reduced on sale, and I was right in doing so Dialog is slow af, it doesn't flow, story is missing elements, combos are repetitive and dull, Litterally random encounters are annoying, it feels like Dynasty warriors 9 A half cooked game and a waste of money, sadly, I can not get a refund

I couldn’t even make it to the Ginyu Force with how boring this game was. I feel bad that I dropped $60 on it when it came out. It’s crazy because I love dragon ball and really wanted to enjoy this game but I had to realize that I was forcing myself to play it and that the game just wasn’t for me.

I do enjoy the cutscenes and the overworld. but i despite the boring combat system, the boss fights are okaysch, but do still bore me as hell. i wont for sure buy any kind of dlc

totally agree with you bro, i got to the cell saga and didnt finish the game because i hated the combat and everything took a ton of time to happen, i prefer playing budokai tenkaichi 3 for the story of dragon ball, and it has great combat.

I am on frieza arc and struggling finishing the game because it's so boring. buu is one of my fave characters...but i wanna quit 2/4 of the way in. combat feels so repetitive and the battles are very easy. not to mention all the open world filler

I honestly had the same issue with Xenoverse games. There's just not enough combos to make the game interesting enough. At least in Xenoverse it presents you the classic story with a twist so you have that as an incentive to keep you going, as well as playing as your own customizable character. This game doesn't have that in so it just becomes this.. bland..dragonball game that makes me want to watch the anime instead of playing through this game with its pointless mechanics. I will say I think part of why I didn't like this game, and by extension Xenoverse 1+2 so much was because I've been spoiled by playing the Bodukai Tenkaichi and Bodukai games before and showing me in terms of what a dragonball game should be(Lots of characters to choose from, and a bevy of combos and ki blasts to keep the combat fresh). That's why this game feels lacklustre in comparison imo. Add in to the fact that the bodukai games came out literally over a decade ago, and you're just left wondering why'd they take a few steps forward, and so many steps back in the recent dragonball games. (FighterZ excluded)

I mean the whole system just made no sense to me, you're an rpg esque story driven experience so combat wouldn't be the focus but at the same time having a maximum of like 2 combos that you can pull off in a what i assume is a 20 hour game seems incredibly short sited. It's weird cause these guys did the naruto storm games and that combat system while basic is endlessly entertaining with so a lot of variation since it had multiplayer aspects to it as well Visually it's great but i just don't see the point in making a game like this when the show is right there ya know except you can skip all the filler and expository dialogue in the show lmao

Versus storm Especially, which they made already, idk why the decided a dbz game needed less combat options. I think 1 possible reason is accessibility but no one wants to play a fighter with 2 combos ever that’s just dumb. I’d like to hear your ideas on how to fix games in your reviews as well if it’s not too much to ask!

Once i played the raditz fight and seen the combat i instantlu refunded my game. Easily the worst dbz game ive ever played. If they at least had good combat it would be fun. I literally couodnt with this game .

This is why despite my channel beginning to lean more towards ARPG livestreams I havent touched this in so long despite putting 150-200 hours in it meal buffing, and am not getting Hogwarts Legacy. I am sick of Ubisoft-likes and want games that have sillier side quests and content designed around sandbox design instead of story and open world being two separate features. These games have one thing in common and its next to no sandbox features. Believe it or not the one game that has proper sandbox features this year is none of these, not Kakarot, not Sonic Frontiers, not Legacy, but Cyberpunk 2077. The rest look like they ran through a corporate checkbox and open world was on the list. These games are story first open world secondary with next to no sandbox features inside the open world which is why they're so fucking boring compared to the likes of CDPR and Bethesda stuff.

The one thing I like about DBZ kakarot more than Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm is that controls of game is easy and even though it not tells everything but atleast it shows control setting not like Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm where they skip basic common things like Tutorial.

And also For me the 2 best part of this game is ending where Goku fight Buu with iconic Japanese opening and last vegeta character development in Frieza saga the dopamine rush I get playing as Vegeta was just awesome but you can't deny one thing is character movements and facial animation is more better than Jump Force game

I think people think this game is boring because they button mash all the time during fights. It's actually decent mechanics for the fighting. You just have to figure out the right moments to snap-vanish

Boring is such a buzzword along with "generic". I'll admit this game isn't great, but all of your criticisms sound vaguely worded and can apply to a lot of other games. A lot beat em ups can be beaten using the combos over and over. You can complain that the game glosses over scenes but it does retell the DBZ story in game form better than most and does in some ways have improvements over the story. Also DBZ is better than Naruto Shippuden by a country mile.

He said in the video he made the video low-effort because he felt that’s what the game was. He has also said in a reply to another comment that the reason he finds it boring is because there’s no interesting way to innovate/be creative with the combat, using the storm games (which were made by the same devs) as an example. I definitely agree with his opinion; I get that Kakarot’s point was to “tell the full story”, but gameplay is easily the most important part of most games, especially a combat focused one like this; the storm series is a pretty high bar (even tho they were made by the same devs 😂) but the game doesn’t even feel as fun as say the raging blast series or budokai games

@@gdmewmewgod6653 Fair enough, I also think the Storm games are better than Kakarot but that's because I think the Naruto Shippuden anime is a geniune mess and Storm somehow despite being a game manages to get to the point faster than the Shippuden anime did. DBZ at the very least has Kai and the original anime of DBZ isn't as bad as Shippuden is. I also think the Storm games being much shorter kind of helps them be less tedious than Kakarot can be at times.

I just uninstalled it at the Kid Buu fight. I couldn't do it anymore and that little fuck spamming nonsense while I stand there and charge up for the 800th time was it for me. The worst DBZ game. What a fucking slog. I was holding the fast forward button skipping every movie I just wanted it over.
