Also the stages in MK9 are still aesthically pleasing to this day. They have a classic Mortal Kombat feel to them. That was my big gripe with MKX and MK11. The environment and atmosphere doesn't have that Mortal Kombat vibe to it. Just my opinion.

I don't really agree I like the mkx and inj2 stages. May just come down to a difference of opinions, but they all look really good to me. Especially the sky temple (despite It being bad online) and batman's stage. Interactables are annoying but they add a different aspect to the gameplay depending on how strong they were.

Reason why MK9 was such a gem was because everyone had at least one super broken stuff that they could do, and still not be the most powerful character in the game, can't wait for Cyrax, Kenshi and Kuhbawl

You missed the part where she's the only character that could punish(!!!) a breaker. If your opponent would break your combo while your purple glow was active, there would be no kickback animation and she would react on it with the armor just like with any other hit. I think it didn't get patched.

His dive kick wasn't that great honestly. For comparison: Kungo Lao could whiff his dive kick to travel damn near full screen with 0 recovery frames once he landed. The enhanced version also dealt a TON of chip damage on block and, if spaced perfectly, put him at significant advantage on block. Sonya's dive kick led to 40% combos that ended in a standing reset.

Leveshall Yeah, she was not a beginner level character. Very hard learning curve. She had damaging combos but they were hard to pull off and had very strict timing. She still held her own but as an MK9 Jade main, she had to work much harder but she still had good tools besides her broken wake-up.

Tanys wakeup was worse imo you can just block jade she only had 1 overhead and its easy af to see it coming while tanya had 50/50s on her wakeup one leads to full combo and both were armored.

Kabal. He could spam Instant air gas blasts and cancelled nomad dashes full screen to build meter (these moves have no recovery so he could just keep doing them over and over) and up close he had nomad dash cancels that ended with him being plus on block.

She was slow, weak zoning and anti zoning tools, she had a ridiculously low range for someone with a pole, and not good enough damage, her overhead pole attack was so slow you could dash and put yourself behind jade for a free punish, and her ex armor move often meter drain glitched, she had a good x ray and her ex boomerang was good though

Damián Gallo Her combo speeds weren't that slow actually. And her only good tools for range were standikg 4 into f3, her b1, her amazing u3 and her amazing anti-air and a combo starter, b2. Those moves had amazing range. But yes, her overhead was slow but you could force your opponent to block it or get hit by it because it jails if you do d4 into staff overhead. Her ex razor rangs setup good ways to keep your opponent in line and pressure them and she actually had really damaging combos midscreen and in the corner: 42%+ . It's not that they were low damage, they just had really strict timing that not a lot of people can pull off so people played characters who did what she did, but easier. So yeah, she wasn't top tier or anything but if you knew how to use her, you'd give people a run for their money because she can still very well hold her own.

Too bad her normals were slow and clunky, with poor damage output. Ex-glow also increased the damage she takes on hit. She builds meter poorly so a bar for Ex-glow with such a short window to try and capitalize damage on the opponent is often wasted. I know because I played her alot. She's trash, but I still love her and rocked her.
