@Mfsd Mer 2500+ would put a player in the 99.85 percentile in the USCF. I cannot see how that wouldn't be considered ONE of the best in the world. Some people's definition of elite or world class is outrageous. Some people even criticize Magnus for not playing a certain engine recommended line, comparing a man to an engine ran by a supercomputer.

He is a GM which means he had to perform I believe at a 2800 rating consistently over several tournaments. That is far more impressive than a online rating which is almost meaningless against the likes of tournament play. The problem he played against a super GM who toys with regular GMs and Hikaru is also the best bullet player in the world, even Magnus would have trouble against him in bullet
