I think Sendo has a solid chance tbh. But Ricardo is a riddle no one has been able to resolve to this day. Tough.

@@KingKoohii compared to who else is in the weight class. Hes the only chance left tbh , ippo still needs a push and more training and intellect. Sendos fresh and dedicated. I can either see 3 things happening: 1: sendo fights brutally and gives Ricardo a much more rougher fight than Wally and Date but ends up losing due to Ricardos superior experience and fundamentals. May result in retirement 2: he flat out dies, letting it be known that in ring deaths do happen but he leaves a legacy and new inspiration for Ippo and everyone else 3: he flat out wins and is Ippos final obstacle to overcome in the series. Either outcome im ok with. Its gonna be a spectacular fight when it happens, def will be rooting for Sendo. He got what it takes and is hungry for it. He got it.

But Sendo is such a fan favorite. It would be like when Isayama tried to take Levi out and the fans went crazy on him lmao. But then again, Morikawa probably doesn’t care about anyone. Otherwise he wouldn’t have had the balls to literally have Ippo retire for years and flesh out other characters.

No, Joe's punches are killer, but are not intended. And he has insane endurance. But doesn't have the eyes of a madman like sendo. Rather he has eyes of a ghost because of his punch drunkenness which made Jose go crazy, and the fact that joe could get up no matter what, looking like he didn't even care about his health.
