And that is what this is all about - how flerfs feel - as it's so important to them to feel like they are more intelligent than the rest of us to compensate for the reality that they are much, much more ignorant than the rest of us. Sometimes it's about feeling special, ie when their "god" is involved making them the special ones that are "saved" by this "god" of theirs. Many times both are combined, ie creationists.

Part of the problem is that you don't very often see a diagram of the Earth-Moon-Sun system drawn to scale. Most diagrams look like the one she showed with the moon very close to the Earth. It's understandable that people get confused by that and don't understand how the sunlight gets "around the earth" to illuminate a full moon. Being confused about that is one thing. Using that confusion to try to "refute the globe model" is just idiotic.

The World Wide Googleweb allows people to access great knowledge. In fact, the original purpose of the Internet was to make the dissemination and reading of Scientific Papers available to all Academics. Unfortunately certain Criminals have worked out that peddling plausible nonsense to idiots is a good way of "coining it in" as we say in England. Hence FE & YEC. It also makes it tragically easy for sufferers of the Dunning-Kruger malaise to parade their ignorance before the whole world.

Some things the flat-earthers cannot explain consistently in the same model at the same time... (and there are many more) 1. Day and night 2. Eclipses (both Solar and Lunar) 3. Seasons (Earth tilt) 4. 15 degrees per hour gyroscopic drift 5. Different stars visible in different hemispheres (North star, Southern cross etc.) 6. Stars appear to rotate around the poles (Earth rotating) 7. Space travel, space walks 8. Why things fall towards the centre of the earth (gravity) or other nearby large masses 9. The GPS system works 10. Photos from space 11. Great circle routes for aircraft travel 12. Australia exists (I live here) 13. People have travelled to both poles, Antarctica is real and you can visit 14. The horizon (i.e. things disappear below the horizon) 15. Tides 16. Moon position relative to the Sun (phases of the moon) 17. Celestial navigation (latitude/longitude) works 18. Moon landings, manned and unmanned 19. Buoyancy has g (acceleration due to gravity) as part of its definition 20. Planetary exploration, also Voyager I and II

Let me give a try: 1. The sun and moon are so local that it only shines a light on a specific area (like a spot light) 2. They don't exsists, that some projection on the dome 3. Some gibberish. 4. There is no drift, The gyroscopes are calibrated to always give that drift so it supports the globe model 5. See number 2 6. See 5 :P 7. CG (EYE) 8. Gravity doesn't exist. It's due to the density gradient. 9. High altitude balloons 10.CG (EYE) 11. Do pilots even adjust for the earth curve. NOOOO. So it's all a lie 12. No you don't, you are being brainwashed by NASA to believe Australia exists. 13. You can't visit ANTARTIC THREATY. You can only visit a small, secluded area to watch penguins. Have you travelled there? Do you know anyone who's travelled there? 14. Perspective 15. Some gibberish. 16. perspective? 17. Yeah they created a device and all these calculations to support the globe model. They secretly have other calculations which they never show. These are really used to do the navigation 18. FAKE, CG (EYE), NASA LIES 19 g is actually a number for the density gradient. Don't you see. Gradient starts with a g. 20 FAKE, CG (EYE), NASA LIES I think I've watched to many Scimandan, Sir Sic, Creaky videos since most of these answers are probably very similar to what an actual FLERF would say.

First of all they need to explain what is below a flat earth, where does the Antarctica ends, where the dome starts and what is above the dome. Once they manage to explain all those things together I will still want them to explain that if there is more water on a side then what is the reason the earth doesn't flip over. No need to listen to garbage explication about things they don't even understand like the GPS system, buoyancy, the drift of the earth and more.

They both watch her video hunched over the phone and go pale like they've seen a ghost. One says to the other, "How could we have missed this throughout all of science and a girl on KZbin figured it out? My god, man. The earth must be flat after all. Quick! Get NASA on the phone!" This should be pretty easy to understand with a ball and a lamp. I thought flerfs loved to try things for themselves. If you put the ball between you and a lamp it will be dark but still visible due to the light reflected off the surroundings, and if you put yourself between the lamp and the ball it will be illuminated unless it's in your shadow. I think a young child could do this. The problem is they deny the basic structure of the solar system until it doesn't make any sense.

Hey Dan. You know what? I think that she thinks a full moon is when both sides are illuminated which is impossible.

Disilluded, then. Makes as much sense as anything she said. Mind you her accent was so weird I couldn't understand half of what she said even with my wonderful new hearing aids.

It's the arrogance of these folks that gets me. I try not to take it personally, but I feel offended and disrespected haha. I know it sounds funny. These people, rather than creating models, graphs, or drawings to show their thinking, just read stuff that IS fact and say that's not true Globetards. And then they say "we are explaining this scientifically". They must've skipped 4th or 5th grade when we learn the Scientific Method

You don't have to actively shame a Flat Earther... they do it themselves! *mind is numb* I can't argue with these people, their complete lack of any intellect makes it impossible to get any kind of understanding into their thick skulls. The part that really frustrates me is I have never heard of an Ex-Flat-Earther... I need to know! Is there anyone out there who went from believing in a Flat Earth to knowing the truth and realizing how stupid they where being? It would be really nice to know that someone learned the truth... I need encouragement.

How is it that in 2023 people still believe the world is flat, when the tech that they use is based on satellites that orbit a ( wait for it) a globe Earth? 🤦🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

I learned nothing new today and that is a good thing. The animated phases of the moon was nice to see. If there was a little timer next to it counting hours and days it would habe been perfect. But I guess even then, some people couldn‘t understand it. 8:44

While she's clearly confused, it seems unfair to award her the superlative "most clueless" - our friend in Westchester County has her beat, hands down.

I have no doubt she'd be in absolute denial that during a crescent moon, most of the side we can't see is lit. I think she genuinely believes that only the parts we see lit are lit at any point.

If you bring people like that into space, and show them the phenomena in real life, they will see it, they will know its right, but will still deny it one way or another, because its not that they don' understand. Its that they don't want to lose their faith.
