As a week one player I think that the Solos LTM was ruined by how bad the iron crown event was. The players probably had lower retention and with the predatory monetization and they chose to blame it out on solos. Edit- thanks for the conversations and likes!

I was originally unhappy about the Caustic canister nerf for about a week. I soon realized that it didn't stop it from being an incredible AoE Tactical. I learned to either use them less frequently or put them in more obscure places. Also, some players just run through that shit anyways, so the nerf wasn't debilitating and it was a healthy nerf at that. He is still one of the best Legends due to how much ground he can choke off from other teams and how devastating he gets during final rings

there's still no reason that ranked and pubs have to be the same, keep the old Kraber and Knockdown shield in pubs and not in ranked, simple. i never really cared about the knockdown shield change though, since it's true you rarely pull off a revive. also maybe don't have cross play in ranked and pit pc controller player against other controller players. i think separating the competitive side of games from the fun side is a good thing.

Being in Rookies and reaching silver to see masters and diamonds trails is ridiculous. Before the rank changes, I am always hardstuck PLAT. I never EVER play against diamonds and masters in rank. This new changes legit make it out balance. When I hit GOLD, I give up. Even worse, the changes they made starting season 13 push out a lot of people out of the rank because it is "too competitive" for others. Even pubs feels like Rank. I reduce my playing hours with the game. I notice streamers like timmy and aceu do not stream APEX as frequent anymore. That says a lot. Also the community only cater to PROs and not regular players.

GOD! I actually hate bullet punch! I noticed how stupid it was when I was 1v1ing my friend... he'd literally beam me and I couldn't move or slide to avoid damage, taking heaps of damage and being unable to survive anything. I really think they should allow you to at least slide when taking damage, the general slowdown isn't horrible, but when I deadslide, I lose all momentum and can't move afterwards...

@@Hellman9615 I also miss the broken punch boosting, but the problem with it was the fact that it was extremely easy and did too much. Especially on Storm Point. I'm certain that if s11 punch boosting were still around, people would complain a lot more than they do about it's removal. You could damn near infinitely stack speed, only being limited by what you're punching and skill. imo the new punch boosting is better than what we had, because it's actually balanced, but still accessable. I would've loved to be able to use broken punch boosting on other maps tho.

I think tap-strafing should stay in apex... however, aim assist is not an argument against how PC has an advantage over console. Tap-strafing is an amazing tech that has been mastered in titanfall, coming from titanfall I love movement tech. I play on console and whenever I play with friends in pc lobbies it is sometimes practically impossible to hit a tap-strafing movement legend. People often over estimate the utility of aim assist. It's not an insta win cheat code. It helps a decent amount with mid range engagements, but for long range, not so much. The misconception is that once you pull the trigger you can just keep it down and you don't have to have any recoil control. This is not the case. As a console player recoil control is a lot harder having played on pc before. Still, I think the most pressing issue is the matchmaking. It's painful as a relatively new player to ranked to have to fight 3 stack preds in plat. I definitely don't think that solo q is the way though and instead respawn should implement a matchmaking preference filter which would allow players to define the matchmaking relative to their rank. For example, tekken 7 has a feature for online play where you can adjust the maxium difference between you and your opponent's rank. Ranging from 0 (same rank) to +-3. Obviously this wouldn't be exactly how it would work in apex as it is a completely different game but there is some material to start with

Sure, different companies but it shows that they don't have to forcefully put out packages that you have to buy with money to be a successful game. I think I have a fair compromise for aim-assist and tap-strafing. 1. Allow tap-strafing on console by holding down crouch midair to tap-strafe. 2. Nerf all aim-assist values to 0.4 instead of 0.6 on console. Nerfing aim-assist while allowing easy access to tap-strafing will help balance the game cross-platform. Also just a thing I personally think they should change, they should allow 120fps on new gen consoles. if 120fps is too difficult to achieve, at least 90fps would help... just so new gen consoles can compete with higher end PCs.

I am not a developer, and have very little knowledge of how exactly game coding works, but I have a very decent understanding of the source engine, and the version of the source engine apex is built on, and have given a lot of thought around game design and balance for apex as well as other games. I am also a MnK player On self-res: If self res is to be added back into the game it should be reworked to not be as much of a deciding factor in who wins fights. Maybe the gold knockdown shield could have less health, similar to how a gold body shield doesn't have as much as a maxed evo shield (possibly closer to a blue knockdown's health). Downed teammates shouldn't be able to stack on top of one another if any of them are resing or have their shield up, with one player in the middle sitting there considered knocked, but still in the game or even resting while their two teammates covering them with max health shields On tap-strafing: Make it accessible for controller input without having to go through steam configs Make it possible in the console version of the game's input engine Alternatively, remove crossplay. if the players who can't use the tech are going to be blocked off from using it, they shouldn't have to compete against players who can use it. (yes, I know console to pc crossplay only happens when they party up together). If apex Devs really want to emphasize the same skills on both Inputs, add tap-strafing to all controller inputs and remove the ability to bind movement keys to scroll wheels, so players have to tap their movement keys, that way tap-strafing may be more difficult for pc players, but the high skill tech would still be in the game, and all players would be able to do it with the same skills being tested On aim assist: slightly turn down the aim assist values, it provides too significant of an advantage Make console aim assist closer to or the same as the pc controller values. If apex Devs want parity between platforms they should be in equal footing. Yes, many PCs have better or more optimized specs than consoles, but first: this seems more like an optimization issue above coddling players on lower spec systems, second: some PC players are playing with a controller on their parent's 11 year old laptop so they should apparently get even better aim assist than console players, and third: higher quality systems might be considered 'pay to win' but if I was working on a 3d render file on a relatively high end machine I would still take a decent amount of time and if I was to render something on a potato, the render software seeing this and starting up turbo mode to put the two systems on equal footing doesn't make much sense. Keep some amount of aim assist to keep tracking and recoil control epically at medium manageable for controller players, but not too far in either direction to the extent where one option is superior Others: Add moving while looting to controller Make strike packs complex macros not work in game (I have no ideas how to do this, but I fear both)

I still think gas barrels should be fine tuned a bit more. It takes just one grenade to destroy a fully set up base of Caustic. That's not the case with any other defensive legends like Rampart, Catalyst or - of course - Wattson.

I think solo's mode only did bad cause the dev's failed to foresee that players would que up together in the attempt to get into their friends game and basically team up on other players. I remember playing it a few times when it came out and that was my overall experience after no more than 3 matches at the time, was very annoying guess it just goes to show just cause you intend for something to work one way doesn't mean people wouldn't find another way to abuse or use it

I personally had an amazing time during the low TTK era. For some reason, I'm really good at getting a lot of damage off on someone before they do so to me, I just choke the final 25-50HP. Since everyone died sooner, my KD shot up from 0.95 to 1.32, and it was still climbing when they reverted the change

Tbh tap strafing is straight up unfair. As a console player it's physically impossible to even escape or even shoot people that are tap strafing. And people say aim assist is broken its really not. Seeing all these changes collected together, I really lose a lot of hope for the game... seems like the devs have not made a lot of changes, and most of the changes they try to make seem to be in the WRONG direction (less fun, less movement, less damage, replace powerful attachments and items with weaker ones). The recent clip of AceU playing season 5 is telling. The game looked more fun YEARS ago. They've had a LOT of time to build on their success, but while the maps and new content has been made, the game itself has actually degraded... what a shame.

I'm not a competitive player cause I just don't enjoy that environment where I'm not 100% in control of my outcome. But I still really liked the gold knockdown shield change as a "casual" player. Though I am kinda annoyed seer tactical time to go off and width was nerfed. I never played him back then but trying him now, using his tactical 9 times out of 10 just feels like a waste of time(cause it's stupid easy to dodge) and shows your location. I'm glad they removed "bhop healing". Bunny hopping in general imo is just dumb. Didn't know caustic got nerfed so hard. That's really dumb imo. Using the idea of "can't push a caustic" as a negative doesn't make sense. Players are already way too push obsessed in apex and a defensive character being able to slightly delay that makes sense. Really dumb they made his traps so bad.
