The novel is about rich cultural heritage of the Morans, one of the aboriginal tribes of Assam. During the 13th century, they resided in the south-eastern corner of the Brahmaputra valley. They had an abundant kingdom led by king Bodousa before the advent of the Ahom king chu-ka-pha. Having arrived in this affluent kingdom, Chu-Ka-Pha proposed to marry princess Gondheswari- the daughter of Moran king Bodousa. The peace loving king Bodousa accepted his proposal and the history of Assam took a turning point to be shaped as it is found today.

Almost most of the migration history is present in Wikipedia. As linguistic and ethincity lover, it was basic knowledge for me. Most of so called Assamese culture has tribal origin but people started to sanskritised the origin And rewrites the original meaning. You know its called kwai( Tamul)i in khasi but do you all knew its called as Gui,Gwi, in bodo-garo ( Tibeto-burmanese of assam) languages. Also bihu which has origin from Bishu word of Deori people of upper assam. Bwisagu,Bisu also Busu dima, you can find the similarity here.
@MS1430511 ай бұрын
Tribalism has nothing to do with language and sanskrit culture and if that is how you define tribal origin than tribals who were romanised and the ones who accepted christianity and the english bible should not be defined as tribal, so please justify your statement
@MS1430511 ай бұрын
@@LifeLabyrinthExpedition well sir my question was definitely not pointed towards your statement but anyways thanks for your acknowledgement all that i meant to say is jagat deuri made an improper statement, there is a difference between conversion and shifting , christian crusades and missionaries converted people for decades unlike the sanskrit culture , people shifted to sanskrit since this was the only mode of communication in the indian sub continent and this is why sanskrit should not be blamed for " converting " tribal people like missionaries
