I just finished listening to your Catcher in the Rye. I’m 70 and when I was in high school I could never get through it. I still have my copy, it’s dark brown held together with a rubber band, the pages are loose and it’s almost disintegrating , now I don’t need to worry about it! 😂. I loved your reading, I really did. Your Holden was perfect. I’ve just started this one as I fall asleep. Thanks Nolan❤

I have a question about the distance between the yacht and Ship-Trap Island. Whitney says it's "Off there to the right somewhere" while passing. He tells Rainsford a moment later that he doesn't know if they've passed that island yet. He says, in reference to him and the captain, "we WERE drawing near the island then." But aren't he and Rainsford drawing near the island already? And yet, maybe not, because when Whitney is in bed and Rainsford is out, he hears an abrupt sound "off to the right." This implies the island is in the right direction of the ship, slowly passing by, right? They're apparently parallel to each other, one moving?

@@nolanreads...Actually I have! I would love some Philip Roth! "Portnoy's complaint" is so witty and "Indignation", which personally reminds me of "The catcher in the rye". They are both written in first person, so it makes them an excellent read for an impeccable reader, like you ❤️ PS I only got the notification for your message just now, after two months.
