I’ve been waiting for this one! Thank you for letting me experience this trail again through your lens. It’s been over a decade since I hiked/climbed it, and I still talk about it to this day. I’m glad everything came together for you all to hike it too. And I’m even more glad to see everyone looking so happy the whole time! 0:15 I like that this one starts exactly where the last one left off. 0:40 I’m very glad your trip didn’t overlap with peregrine falcon nesting season, because I completely forgot that it was a thing when we were discussing your plans for this trip 😅 1:45 As always, I appreciate the background information. I didn’t know any of this stuff. 2:15 This panning shot is even better than the one in your last video! What a great shot for establishing exactly where you are and where you’re going and what you’ll see from the top. 2:28 I love it when a trail is just a bunch of jumbled rocks on a mountainside 😍 3:05 Okay, this pan is really good too. It shows off the narrowness of the path and the sheerness of the cliff. And I have a thing for that pink granite too, haha. 4:00 The slomo sequence of Hannah’s boots, your hand on the railing, and Jason climbing is well done and gives us a good feel for what this trail is like. Thinking about you holding your camera in one hand and grabbing the railing with the other gives me sweaty palms 😳 5:05 I see that Hannah also appreciates the occasional glimpse of the elusive Bluegrass Backcountry in his natural habitat. 5:25 Everybody looks pretty relaxed considering they’re 6 inches from a nasty tumble! 5:55 Okay, okay, you’ve mastered these shots at this point. 6:28 I like this shot because it looks super sketchy, and because Hannah wants you to stop the video, and because this random shirtless guy decides he wants to be on KZbin 😂 6:45 That’s a man who’s done some rock scrambling in his day! 7:17 I hope somebody ate those delicious Maine blueberries. 7:28 I love this kind of shot where there’s something interesting in the foreground and you also have action in the background - in this case, the rest of the group hiking across the mountaintop. 7:33 I appreciate how you let the images do the talking after you say the views are indescribable. And the images do a lot of talking. I love those wide shots as you’re all walking down, with the bay and the islands in the background. 8:35 And then what might be the best panning shot of them all. It’s hard to beat a mountaintop panorama. I also like how the sound of the crickets seems to be echoing across the island. 9:35 I like this “Hey, are you filming us??” look from everyone. 10:50 Hahaha, this is a great ending. Was Jason trying to Frenchify that word? Thanks as always for the time and effort you put into this. I can’t wait to see what’s in the next episode. Maybe some beer and lobster in Bar Harbor? I could go for that myself. I’ll see you soon, brother, whether in real life or in another comment section somewhere!

Thanks for much for tuning in again, brother! I did not realize that it has been over 10 years since you hiked this one yourself - for some reason in my mind I imagined it happening just a few years ago haha. It truly was a bucket-list hiking experience that I will relish for the rest of my life. - I have been trying really hard to craft each individual episode so that they will piece together well when I release the full length trip video. I appreciate this comment, as it encourages me that I am heading in the right direction. (also, there will be some more “easter eggs” in the full length video 😉) - Shew, you and me both brother. I know in the video I said we learned that week that it had opened, but if my memory serves me correctly, I think I didn’t actually see the notice on their website until after we had got to Maine. Talk about cutting it close! - It’s been really fun researching these trails and areas we visited! I definitely am doing a lot of plagiarizing, but hopefully it’s been insightful nonetheless. - I got really lucky with all the pan shots on this hike. I was really winded the entire time, so it is miraculous that I was able to keep my hands still enough during the horizontal sweeps. - Seeing the unending amount of talus of rocks was an “Oh sh*t” moment for me, for sure. It was exhilarating and intimidating haha - The only thing that would make this shot better for me is if my dang color blind eyes could pick up on the pink granite! I had no idea I hiked next to pink rock until you mentioned it during the Ocean Path Trail video. - When I first started doing slomo, I thought it would feel too “gimmicky” to include a bunch of shots in one video, but nowadays I actually like to include as much as possible, as long as I have corresponding audio to pair with it. I think it slows the video down enough to focus on details that pass by too quick at 24fps or 30fps. And I was holding on to that Big Chungus for my life on this hike! - Haha you, Hannah, and Jason both all do! I always crack up at your BB behind the scenes bloopers, and Jason’s/Hannah’s comments reminded me of those times out in the field with you! - You are so right! Now that I am looking at the footage after the fact, it’s crazy to believe Jason and McKenna were all hugged up right next to the edge of that cliff that was several hundred feet high! - 😊 Just call me “Pan-uel” now 😉 - This shot idea was courtesy of the rest of the group, surprisingly. They suggested the angle. I don’t know if I would have done it if not for their creative input, which was cool! - It may seem like an experienced bloke on those rocks, but internally I was about to pass out. I was badly out of shape on this trip haha! - I ate that handful and then finally got Jason to try one! He was doubtful that they would taste good, which was preposterous to hear, because they were amazing! - I really appreciate it when you pick up aspects of shots that I had no idea were in my videos. I must be partly blind while editing, because I literally had no idea that the rest of the group was hiking past the sign in the background of this shot. So, thank you for making this scene even cooler! - I have really tried to minimize the amount of talking I do in order to let the landscapes speak for themselves. It wouldn’t feel right to be blabbering during all the incredible vistas on this summit. Sometimes silence is the best thing to say 😊 - This pan is brought to you by none other than the 9mm f1.7, which I hope you have snagged from that guy on fb by the time you see this comment 😉 Also, the crickets may or may not have been added by some YT movie magic 😉 #sorrynotsorry - This was one of my favorite shots, actually. Getting to see their smiling faces after a hike like this was just evidence of how great that morning truly was. - I think he was trying to make it sound more like a nephrology term, but it definitely has a French-esque vibe too! - Thank YOU for being one of my biggest fans and friends, both on and off YT! I love getting to share these trips and memories with others, and it sounds like they are doing a good amount of inspiring to get you and Amy out there soon, I hope! Looking forward to getting back on the trail with you this weekend!
