You did some high mileage days with heavy packs in the whites-glad you made it through!
@BluegrassBackcountry2 күн бұрын
Yes we pushed ourselves farther and harder than we probably need to! It’s hard to cram in so many miles when you only have so much time away from work. The Whites were brutal, but it didn’t get any easier once we got past them! The three of us all agree that the Kilkenny’s were as hard or harder than the Whites. It was brutal!

Waited for the whole thing to be released and watched it all in one go. Great trip! I wish the sun could have made a better appearance towards the end but you guys soldiered on. Quite an inspiration and what a beautiful trail. Any chance of a post-trip recap vid, gear report, lessons learned etc?
@BluegrassBackcountry3 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch through the whole series! I know it was quite the time commitment, but hopefully it was worth it to see all the views I tried to capture. This was easily the hardest trail I have ever done, so the feat of making it to the end without giving up was extra special for me. In terms of your post-hike video question, I am rereleasing the entire series this weekend in one seamless docuseries style video (with an updated, narrated intro) so future people don't have to click through 6 separate video links to watch the whole trip (sorry you had to go through that process yourself). I haven't given alot of thought to a gear report or a recap, but I am open to it! Thanks for the idea, stay tuned!

Congrats on completing the "Mighty Cohos Trail", Samuel! And congrats to Nick and Chad too. I enjoyed following your journey on KZbin via your videos and Nick's. I hiked the Cohos Trail SOBO in July 2023 and enjoyed it very much. I see from comments down below that you're looking into the JMT. I hiked it three years ago, and it is fabulous!

Thank you so much for tuning in over the course of this Cohos video series, Judy!! This trail is "mighty" indeed; its impression on my mind and body are still very much reverberating several weeks removed from it. Sounds like you are quite the accomplished thru hiker yourself, which is awesome! Hope you will stick around for future adventures on my channel, maybe even a JMT thru hike series in a couple of years! Cheers!

Thank you for putting together this series. It was a great review of the trail although I know it was easier for us doing it from North to South. But, I give you all the credit for doing it in one continuous hike and dealing with whatever you were dealt with, including weather and mud, rather than section at a time with a day or two off for personal schedules as allowed. Three of us met you on top of the Bulge and pleased you included us doing our cell phone photo shoot in your 3rd episode. Keep up the good work and keep on hiking. I

Thanks so much for tuning in and leaving this very kind comment! Glad I got to meet y’all at The Horn. I had just run up that summit, so I was probably looking pretty haggard haha. This was such a tough challenge for us to do, but I wouldn’t trade the experience for the world. Hope to revisit the mountains of NH again in the future, hopefully in a much more relaxed state ha! Happy hiking!

Do you think it’s doable to day hike up to spruce knob in December with a 2wd car ? I’d carry survival equipment but not specifically plan to have to camp… hard to find any info about this online
@BluegrassBackcountry11 күн бұрын
I would 10000% not recommend it unless you have either chains on your 2wd tires or use a 4wd truck. I met a couple of guys who were trying to make it in a 2wd car and got stuck for a long time before they could shovel themselves out. I myself had trouble getting up to the trailhead and off the mountain in my truck due to the snow. It was very scary. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

I’m in agreement with Hannah with this being your best video yet ! I think that having to be solo on this trail when it wasn’t expected really brought out the lessons of how we as a humans aren’t meant to be alone and how daunting it can be. The struggle was real and it showed 😢. On a brighter note the moose were such a great surprise I think they are the most unique creatures that God created .
