I live 5 minutes from lake lanier had many years of fun times on the lake. Can tell you that drinking is a big factor in many of the boating accidents...

The only lake I swim in is Lake Michigan and ripe tides aren’t that bad if u know how to swim in them. Plus sailing in a storm is the most fun thing u can do on Lake Michigan

I love living at the lake of the ozarks but it is extremely dangerous mostly because of irresponsible drinkers
@hankschrader7050 Жыл бұрын
Lake of the Ozarks is only the most dangerous because it is the busiest by far. Its literally a group of cities on the water. Boat traffic everywhere and you just park your boat at hundreds of different lakeside bars, fillup stations, or wherever all around you. None of the other lakes are like that.

Lake Lewisville is pretty dangerous, some guy fell off his wakeboard into a den of snakes and died instantly.

It has more potential to be deadly, but people are much less likely to swim in it than in Lake Michigan.

Other than environmental factors, the real dangers of any body of water are the drunk idiots who disregard common sense safety rules. Like drunk drivers on the road, they usually hurt or kill innocent people instead of themselves.

Minor point of contention. Don't know why it bothers me so, but there is no such thing as a man made like. It is a reservoir if it was created by humans. They just call reservoirs lakes to attract tourists.

I live at Lake of the Ozarks and tragically there was an 8 year old that died over the weekend after jumping off the back of a boat and landing on the prop. Pronounced dead on scene. With more shoreline than the State of California and being less than 300 yards wide the entire 90+ miles on busy days it could be like an ocean out there with the rollers. 4-6ft waves. June 12,2021 Lake of the Ozarks is going for the world record for longest boat parade currently held by Malaysia. Guinness World Record representative will be on hand.
