I guess the lesson you've learned is to check the weather first before going to a long drive at the same time you also found out that you are strong enough to deal with the challenges that presented through your travel. Brave Woman! I am from Davao City and I had encountered a lot on the road, even worst than this. However, when in doubt, ask the locals and please do not hesitate to ask from them, we Filipinos are always ready to help.Just a Tip: Plan your trip well, Check weather updates, and most importantly if your are still going to your destination, make sure to travel during the day. Visibility during night time is challenging especially if there's flood. When your nervous or afraid, just sing, it helps..especially Gospel Songs. Ingat always!

You have to be careful when driving in the rural areas of Mindanao. It is a mountainous area and is prone to a landslide if it rains. Do some research before you go. Ask the locals first where to go and if it is safe. Always check the weather first before heading out.

First of all i am happy that you & your kiddo's are safe back home to samal island, Secondly no accidents happened while driving those long widen road (despite of all the obstacles that you've been through) like of those rocks that are scattered on the road, some unexpected incidents, bad weather, heavy rainfall, wet road, under construction road & till you finally arrived at the ship going back to samal island.. Intense rain caused the rockslides and mudslides you went through. still an amazing view and very challenging drive, I had this experience before with my first drive, we went to baguio then suddenly very heavy rain and visibility goes to ZERO coz of fog as we go down, then something explode behind us, I think it was a transformer, after 10 mins the rain stopped, thank God...Be careful also Jel and kids

typhoon season on the northern part of the philippnes is from june to september and typhoon season in the southern part, the location your are at, from november to february. in general this is the case but at times the typhoon just goes where ever it wants. anyway i love your vlog and i hope you find ways to enjoy the rainy season like us filipinos. and always take care and God bless you and your family.

It's ideal to use a pick-up like a Mitsubishi Strada. It's much cheaper than an SUV because pick-up vehicles are classified as trucks, and not subject to excise tax. It's ideal for driving in muddy and flooded roads because of its high elevation. Also it's good for driving in high elevation places like going up to a mountainous area. Your small car is only good for city driving.

OMG Jelena you're really a brave driver having a small car through the storm. The road is not really bad, it so happened there was a Heavy Downpour (rain) that caused some Landslides. Next time don't go during and after the storm, let it pass a week or so. And pls. don't drive fast during storm or on wet roads, it's slippery and the Tires may skid out of control, just use Low Gear. Be safe always.
