This is actually something I've learned in therapy! Even dressing into something else, even a different pair of pjs, can help you feel like you're being productive. I genuinely love the mindset he's promoting. There's far too much toxic "you have to be the best or you're nothing" rhetoric in business and academia, and "you only have to be the best you" is such an important thing for folks to hear. Screw being the fastest and strongest, just give it your all and focus on personal improvement. You'll get there way faster, with less stress.

Honestly it creeps the hell out of me that people are like "yeah this is good actually." The implication of all this stuff is that this is how everyone should be and if you were like this guy you would never have any problems in life. It is straight up propaganda, but because it's corporate propaganda and not for a foreign government or something people don't recognize it as such and are like "oh, he seems like a nice guy." Maybe he is, but this whole grindset "dialed in" shit is still toxic and most people who push it genuinely hate the poor. He didn't really say that much, you have no idea what he thinks about a lot of this stuff.

People like Davis are what makes workplace an instant realm of positive vibes. I had a manager who had pretty much the same persona and wouldn't push us to get the job done, but rather provide us with the motivation needed to outpace the usual flow and efforts. There's better equilibrium in work-life balance now. God bless them both, I wish the world can have more of these legends.

I don't personally understand the idea of needing to do a job that is your EVERYTHING. I love doing my job, and being able to turn the computer off, and start with my home life. I like that I work a job that is just a job, that I still love and take pride in. Even if it's just a like, basic desk finance job. IDK. there's something comforting in doing the same thing every day. I'm this pumped for my work most days too. Don't think I'd go on tiktok talking about it but you know, I guess someone's got to?

Slaves in a plantation could act positive about their work and sing songs all they want but it would only be hiding their hopeless reality. This guy seems like he actually is dedicated to his Excel sheets, unlike many a "grind influencer" whose job is selling the look of working while they're influencing. Even with the baffling "been up since 4.30 am" remark it almost seems like instead of it being a brag about an insane and unrealistic morning routine it's more of a "couldn't sleep half the night bit still had to work, but I'm staying optimistic and doing great, so you can too! 🤗" kinda thing.
