I hate to break it to you, but the brawling you see in a lot of these fights are actually pretty realistic to what happened back then. Yes weapons were used, but on a battlefield sometimes it did just become a punching match when in such close quarters. Whatever you could do to kill the other guy was fair game. And also, doing it in all that armor was EXHAUSTING that stuff if HEAVY!
