2:06 the tip is wrong on tyres pressures, sorry, I just had to stop here to comment that because that would actually make his life harder on ACC On ACC you must aim for 27.5-28.0 after 2-3 laps or the tyres just don't get in their working range. And that's imperative

Actually Asseto Corsa Competizione is very hard, especially to learn to drive, without correct car setup. I understand tactic with lowering rear tire pressure but it was not helping in my opinion. The tire needs to get temperature and correct pressure to work correctly. Too low pressure may keep the tire warm but it won't behave correctly in the corners and during the weight shifts.

yes but if you are lowering the pressure at the rear Tyrese you have less oversteer when you push hard the throttle

It seems weird to me that people really need lessons in this format. I mean, wouldnt just simply watching real life racing carefully be enough (and actually paying attention to what the drivers are doing regarding turning, shifting, etc)? And then its all experience based, of course. Bizarre how its done over here. Saying this because thats how i learned to drive racing sims, just by watching real racing drivers race in all classes and paying close attention. Nobody taught me anything (at least not directly).

One thing is watching. A total different thing is driving with yourself with someone who tells you what you have to do and fixing your mistake which you could unsee while driving alone. ;-)

To me it felt like he didnt look where he needed to go, but more like he looked 10 meters infront of him. Which is something you learn by doing among other things as throttle control ;)
@RadeticDaniel3 жыл бұрын
well beginners can learn a lot from overlayed racing line hints in games but unless you learn how to read telemetry or have some understanding of the physics of racing, just looking carefully will hardly be enough with the wrong setup and to actually bring your observations into concepts you can quickly evoke to apply in different situations is yet another step it makes a lot of sense for intuitive drivers to get following lessons with faster people in real time
@SkateGeneva3 жыл бұрын
You should NEVER be driving with pressures less than 27.5 PSI in these cars mate. If you were trying to make the guy lower the rear pressures to lower the rear ride height and reduce oversteer you should have just told him to lower the actual ride height
@viperconcept3 жыл бұрын
Not sure about your reasoning, so here's mine: Lower tyres pressure = more grip because there's more tyres surface contact to the ground (but more friction, so more probability to overheat the tyres, but this isn't the case becaus his driving style is too slow to overheat the tyres). Then... If you decrease the right height, you lower the center of gravity of the car, making it faster on the direction changes and on the lateral grip (but too low ride height will make you touch the ground with the car's floor. What i did: decrease only the rear pressure to allow the car to have more understeer thanks to the higher grip on the front. If you decrease the pressure, automatically by logic the car height will decrease as well, because of the higher deformation of the tyre. So, if I'm not wrong, by logic if you lower the car as well you'll have even higher probability to touch the ground. Because of that is a no-no for me. Or am I missing something. But... it isn't over: you have to keep in mind this: if you set a higher pressure with someone who isn't fast enough (you need a decent race pace to keep the tyres to the optimal temperature) the tyres will lose temperature, and they'll get cold. So, according to the fact his race pace is modest (for the moment, he's improving lesson after lesson) I put lower pressure to match his slow race pace. That's my reasoning.

@@viperconcept the pressures on ACC DON'T work like that Viper! On ACC you must aim to 27.5 when they are "hot" (2-3 laps) or the tyres don't have grip! it doesn't give more grip lowering the pressures!
@crnro76973 жыл бұрын
@@giardi98 lowering them makes the tyres heat up faster which gives him more grip since the guy learning isn't driving crazy fast
@giardi983 жыл бұрын
@@crnro7697 in other sim it does, this type of tyre doesn't. If the guy doesn't get the tyre in the pressure range because of not enough cornering speed, it would have been still better to increase the pressures ACC prioritize tyre pressures, not temperature. Watch Aris.drives videos about that (he is a Kunos developer) or any ACC setup guide, they will tell you the same exact thing. If you really can't generate tyre temperature, just go with lower brake ducts.

I usually find that an oversteery setup is better to learn track limits and racing line as it is easier to correct your movent at any point. While understeery setups require a more commited approach to any line yielding a faster pace in return. If he just changed track or layout, and the car, shouldn't the session start on a more comfortable setting before picking up the pace? Just curious for general opinions here as I'm pretty sure each one person has its prefered learning methods =)
