Good afternoon, Carmel. We all just hate it when we spend a fortune and the product won't work for us! I haven't bought as much as usual this year, but my fave find has been the elf monochromatic multi-stick in glimmering guava. I don't mind the tiny glimmer particles at all on my eyes or lips, but I usually only wear it on my cheeks after dark. It works so well on me for just a few dollars...can't beat that! P.S. Even with your worst makeup, you still look beautiful! ❤❤❤

I have the same problem with many highly rated foundations! I seem to have a very hard time finding a foundation that works for me, even though they have excellent reviews…it’s so frustrating. They either slide off my oily parts throughout the day or they stick to my dry spots😧 Thanks Carmel❤

You're so charmingly funny, it's a joy to watch you and you crack me up sometimes. So hilarious! I actually thought about.buying the Fenty foundation but I have the feeling it wouldn't work on me as well. I think, every person has such a unique chemistry on their skin so products, especially foundations work different on them. I definitely buy eyeshadow palettes for the mattes and I've had my eye on that Nars palette out of nowhere lately. Do you by any chance own the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Dreams quad?? They strike me as similar but I think the PTD might be a bit more rosy and less warm.... at least from online swatches. People rave over the PTD so I wonder if the shimmers might be better? I'd love to see Nars come out with a Valentine's Day palette! Pinks, Mauves, Berries? or just re-release the Skin Deep palette that was sold out before I could ever get my hands on it! or revise some of their older color stories with the navy, taupe, neutral browns, dusty purples. I think one was called the Paris palette and of course the Nars-issist palette was amazing at the time 🤍✨

Oh man… this was a trip… and so disappointing. I hate change and I hate spending money, especially Canadian money on not amazing products! That just sucks!! Im glad I’m not alone, I feel the same about the Fenty foundation, it only looks decent when I slather on extra skincare and use a hydrating primer underneath, but then need to use more powder than usual for any creasing. Too much work for the cost!

Nars' best shadow formula was the Dual-intensity and it is no longer available... the little six pans Voyageur aren't that bad, better I think than their bigger palette, and I totally agree with you that at that price point, they should come up with a much better formula. I live in Canada and did not get it because of that price point... Have you tried Sidney Grace's shimmer formula ? It is worth every dang penny.... sooo beautiful !! Your look came out very pretty !!

Not sure what happened here & why it didn’t quite hit the mark? I’m so flattered that you think the look was nice…because I really didn’t like it 😂 Thank you for being so kind! Hi Carmel, oh dear!! Try putting one dot under your thumb of the strong coloured elf camo blush, pick up with your finger and dot one to two on each cheek then blend with a brush, see how that works. Thats my technique with the coral crush. I was bought the new formula Mac maximal warm teddy matte reformulation. I'm with you on the texture and kind of wish I'd chosen the Velvet Teddy but thought it would be too pale of a shade, but prefer the shade you demo'd. Oh Carmel wore the L'Oreal Telescopic new controversial mascara twice. Hated the applicator and the formula was too wet and messy and I did something I never do as an exceptionally frugal shopper and almost cried as I threw it in the bin. I think I may try your Loreal Panoramic choice instead when I've geared myself up again!! Xx❤😂

I haven’t tried that mascara in years, so can’t even remember my opinion on it. I tried the Essence Lash Without Limits this year & it’s my favourite drugstore mascara ever. I'm new to make-up (at 45 🤦🏻‍♀️ , got some catching up to do) so I did a bit of YT research before buying stuff. Decided on the Charlotte Tilburry pillow talk mascara. H-A-T-E-D it! Was sad that I paid good money for it. Tossed it in the drawer after a good week of use. Took it out again about 5 days ago and have been using it since. No idea why I hated it, just ❤ it now!!!

I’m not surprised Essence mascaras let you down again 😂. It’s crazy how people can have such different experiences with the same product. While personal taste plays a role, all the mixed reviews about performance and products going bad quickly make me think there might be a quality control issue 🤷‍♀️. Elf blushes are so pigmented that picking the right shade for your skin tone and undertone is crucial. I tried Bronze Bombshell, but it’s too orange for me unless I stick to warm-toned makeup 🙃. I like how you give yourself time to properly test products. It helps us figure out if something’s truly a no-go or just needs some adjustments. This year, I’ve realized I don’t want to waste time trying to make products work if I don’t like the formula. I’d rather spend more time researching than relying on luck. Buying less, experimenting less, and avoiding the hassle feels so much better 😊.

I love the new macximal range I was never a fan of the old matte formula. But I do prefer this formula for brights and reds. When I used a nude I need to add something on top to make it a bit moisturizing.

Great video Carmel. I think the product I have made the biggest and most costly mistakes on is foundation. Either wrong shade for me, or look too makeup-y/heavy, or make me look like I have an oil slick on my skin. Still searching for my HG foundation. 😊

I didn't like the fenty foundation, found it quite heavy. I like the mac concealer, but i have combo skin xx The mac maximal does do a warm teddy shade which might be closer to velvet teddy. X

I was also very disappointed with the Westman Atelier concealer. It didn't blend easily and it ran out in a month. Fortunately I was able to return it for a refund.

While watching your video, I was putting on my own makeup and decided to give another go to the shimmers from my Patrick Ta Major Dimension II which I’ve never liked. At all. Still can’t stand that formula. I suppose they are supposed to be toppers, but that’s not what I want. What a waste of half a palette!

I was influenced to buy the Catrice True Skin concealer and was so disappointed. On me it has no staying power. After a few hours it’s practically gone. But I will keep trying with other base products until I maybe find the right combination.Not much money lost though as it’s very cheap. The Huda Beauty Faux Filter concealer is still my go to. No concealer has come close. For 2025 I have high hopes for a concealer by Lisa Eldridge that is supposed to be launched around february.

@ trying my Catrice concealer again today but with a light layer of setting spray. Sprayed some Charlotte Tilbury setting spray on my brush and used that on top of it. That should help. 🤞🏻Looking forward to your future reviews in 2025🌸
