I'm kind of blown away by the neatness of the work. That stitching on those old crappy boots is flawless. Most of the other well known KZbin cobblers are not getting their stitching anywhere near that perfect.

You blew those people out of the water with your repair! Yours is absolutely amazing and always professionally well done! You definitely know what you're doing 😊! You have a substantial ton of passion and talent! I appreciate your work!*

In every trade, whether you are an auto mechanic, a painter, a roofer, a carpenter, an electrician, a cook......... you know enough about your trade to know the difference between doing the job right, and doing the job wrong. People do bad work on purpose. They have their reasons. Some people really believe that they are trying to help the customer save money. Other people are laughing, as they cheat their customers. But they are keenly aware that they are doing bad work.
@matthewcaughey88984 ай бұрын
Always under promise and over deliver. Your customers will know this and will come back if they know they can trust you. I’m a mechanic by trade and one thing I’ll do is give a regular a price break or sometimes there’s stuff on the house if they’re down on their luck. Helped a guy out the other day with a new diff and axle on his truck. He had just gotten a new job in construction after being laid off for a while and he didn’t have a whole lot of money. Did the usual top quality job despite this one not paying out immediately. 2 months later he comes back, gladly pays me for the original job, then buys 4 new tires off of me and has me inspect the truck. I had no problem with this as he rewarded me for helping him out. I’ll help out anyone who lives in my area if they need it with pricing breaks or paying me when you can. I was once in their position and if I can help out someone down on their luck? Well I’m just glad I can and even then you’ll get the best service I can provide

That’s the kind of craftsmanship thats dying in this country. I’m glad to see there are some who realize that fast fashion is crap and timeless rebuildable footwear is the way it should be. As for me? I wish I could have had the choice to learn to do this in high school. I probably would have my own little shop by now.

How much does it usually cost to do that to a pair of old boots? How expensive does a pair of boots have to be before it's worth paying to have this done?
@Joyce599011 ай бұрын
Just make it make sense. These boots are 300$ USD. Math it. 365 days in a year. These last awhile, even as an ironworker I'm on year three with this particular pair. I'm about to send mine in for a third resole. Thorogoods are about 270$ for the eight inch moc toe, and I rag them out in a year at best. Three pairs of them. I've owned one redwing for three years. Stitches hold up leather holds up foot sinks into the boot custom insole after break in fit like a good baseball glove. These r the best u can buy, and after a year of wear you will see why you wouldn't want to just buy a new pair, and opt to resole. Hope this helps
