I think you give HMS the 90s, maybe a slight lead into the 2000s, but the 2010s you have to go JGR. After 2010 you has Edwards, Kenneth, Hamlin and Busch winning or top 5 everywhere. Jimmie was winning some, but mostly cruising in the summer until the playoffs. Jr won a few superspeedway races. Gordon wasn't winning anymore, the 5 car was pretty a non competitor.

The only team to rival this in any capacity was 2019 Gibbs 19 wins and 3 of the 4 cars in the final 4 is very impressive I would say the two are very comparable

Though 18 is my favorite number and green is my favorite color, imagine how Bobby Labonte would have done if he got the 24 car in 1993. He whipped Gordon in the Busch Grand National Series (and later in IROC), but Bill Davis Racing was never a top team and JGR was rarely on par with Hendrick and Yates during most of Bobby's time with the team.

It’s somewhat comparable to Joe Gibbs in 2019 but I do think this is comparable to today in 2021 especially with Kyle Larson when he most of the races this year for Hendrick motorsports? What about the mid to late 90s with Hendrick?
@judewhite44013 жыл бұрын
Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick, Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr. and Joey Logano are currently the 7 most dominant drivers in NASCAR. Like, the only chance anybody has to beat them, usually, is at the Superspeedway tracks.

Hold up. You need to give Joe Gibbs Racing 2019 that equal credit here.
@raginOKCTHUNDER3 жыл бұрын
He would need to give credit if it were just about 1 season. HMS had 15+ straight years of dominance.... so his assessment is still valid. Yes, JGR had a dominant season, but not a dominant legacy
@lonewolf25133 жыл бұрын
Few more years until we can start referring to JGR with the word legacy. They are for sure on the path.
@lurkintomgaming3973 жыл бұрын
@@raginOKCTHUNDER idk man id hold up on the “ not a dominant legacy “ when you talking about JGR. save that for teams that don’t win multiple championships or hundreds of races with multiple hall of famers. I understand they’re not HMS. But they’re not sittin around trying to break the top 20.
@lurkintomgaming3973 жыл бұрын
@@raginOKCTHUNDER and just some quick googling showed me JGR has the most sanctioned NASCAR wins of all time. 341 between Cup and Xfinity. 176 cup wins to HMS 256 so that’s a decent gap on the cup side for race victory’s. But overall, Joe Gibbs Racing is statistically the most dominant (winning races they enter, win %) team in NASCARs top 3 series in a very short amount of time. I actually didn’t even know that until you told me they do not have a “dominant legacy” google says, you’re wrongs
@raginOKCTHUNDER3 жыл бұрын
@@lurkintomgaming397 well, considering HMS doesn’t run anything besides cup (since like 06), that statistic doesn’t say much. You have to compare solely the cup series for this

Hendrick in 2000s. Probably will be that way again this decade. Elliott and Larson sharing same shop. Yeah I see good things coming out of that. Last Fall was the tip of that iceberg.

at this point in the 21 season. Hendrick has 3 of his 4 Locked in the chase with wins, and only the Champion looking in from the outside, Byron has been consistantly in the top 10 race in and race out. Larson has been hit or miss but does have a win at a mile and a half of which he was never good on. and Bowman has had dominant cars but horrid luck until Richmond when he came back to beat Hamlin in the last 5 laps after a restart. Hamlin had won both stages, and Bowman had to rally to come back from a pit road penalty. Chase as it stands sits in the top 10 in points with consistent finishes as well as a second place finish at Martinsville. Honestly Bowman really needed the win at Richmond because after being wrecked out of the Daytona 500 from 3rd place on lap 15 as well as being caught up in wrecks at Bristol and Martinsville. and the engine issues at Vegas leaving him with 3 races finishing outside the top 25 with only a small rally at bristol to get a few more spots back. his luck barely had him finishing in the top 10 in any other race. so if bowman can win with the season he was having then Chase will put all hendrick drivers in the chase.
