I am new to light room and so many other videos I have watched show how to do the edits but they do them so fast that you don't quite grasp what is being done. With what you have just shown me and actually explain how to get the effect I feel I can use the concepts to images I would like to enhance. Thank you so much

I fought shy of Lightroom for a long time - I didn’t like the subscription model. At the weekend after downloading the free trial (you get for 7 days) I realised what an amazing software programme it is, within 2 hours I had signed up with Adobe. For less than £10 a month I got Lightroom CC, Lightroom Classic, Photoshop and some other software I haven’t looked at yet. There’s a load of tutorials available directly from adobe and on KZbin.

Fascinated to see how/why you edit the way you do Henry. Use capture one but the principles all apply. As a newbie I can often forget the 'why' over just doing it so good to hear you shout that out, restraint and subtle. Definitely more of these please. Keep up the great work. 👏

Ahhh Lightroom... I used to love it. However, I saw the light (haha) and changed to Adobe Bridge/Camera Raw. Much, much better workflow, and none of that faffing about with Lr's catalogue system. ACR has all the editing tools that Lr has, with immediate access to Photoshop if you need it. I still have Lr installed, but I can't remember the last time that I opened it. Despite the reasons for your being stuck at home (like all of us), it's grand to see a little bit behind the curtain, and watch the wizard at work. Nice one mate!

The range mask was the best LR update in years. I use them all the time. Luminosity masking in PS may be more powerful and I'm playing around with it via the Lumenzia plugin. But the LR range masking is so much more intuitive.

Range Mask is such a useful tool addition that I’m unable to access at present as I can’t justify the change in cost model applied by Adobe going to Cloud. I’m being stubborn and holding on until Apple force me to upgrade my OS such that I can no longer continue to use Photoshop and Lightroom 6 - unfortunately that won’t be too long now. I remember the day years ago when Amazon had a half price offer on Photoshop meaning I could finally use all its tools rather than the limited Elements version - saved £300! Lightroom only being £60 was a great addition. Maybe Adobe should reflect on their pricing models to encourage Amateurs? Another top video Henry.
