I love Ryder's Figure Drawing book! Thinking in terms of an envelope has helped my drawings so much. I also love your idea of actually writing out what it is you are proud/not-so-proud of in a drawing. Thanks for a great video!

Very helpful, when I started I had the idea that I'd learn everything so much quicker and almost gave up, then I remember the day I made what i considered my first good quality line in an over all very poor drawing but I was so much more excited to keep learning because I understood how small my steps needed to be. Each breakthrough needs to be recognized and celebrated to make progress enjoyable.

Sooooo true!! Thank u for sharing i felt that way in the beginning as well. I kept wondering why I wasn’t improving fast & eventually realized that I needed to take things step by step. This is such a great comment bc I feel like this is such a common thing amongst us artists. 😁

Great question! When I was learning how to draw before art school I would constantly watch KZbin videos & demos by art teachers the main channel I would watch was « the drawing database » on here. Watching the beginner videos on that channel made it less overwhelming for me bc they already had all of the classes up & I would follow them every day. So I recommend doing that while maybe reading « the practice and science of drawing » by Harold speed, u can find it as a pdf on google or listen to the book on YT. 🫶🏾 I hope this helps
