Thats so cool Andrew, thanks for sharing this important part of UK climbing history.

I started climbing in the early 90’s and this place was the stuff of hushed whispers, rumours and legend. Nice to finally get to see what it’s all about. 🦾

"Ive done it a couple of times" It looked like he had the moves so dialled in he could have done it with his eyes closed

Yah, that is what training on these boards is all about. Getting moves dialed and then just pulling hard

The way some people are able to make crazy hard grades look so effortless is always mind-blowing to me. I would do anything to have the chance to train with these chaps, but sadly I'm in Canada!

me a kinda newbie climber in sheffield didnt realise we had so much climbing history here. Pretty sure foundry in kalham island was the first to use mats and colored boulder problems, and its so close to the peaks its sick
@jackandrew61244 жыл бұрын
Im pretty sure it was the first climbing wall. that place is full of history! The history of climbing in Sheffield is very deep, give Jerry Moffat's book "Revelations" a read. I'm from Sheffield btw.

Genuine question regaurding Billy Ridal, he seems to have well developed pecs and overall chest volume, would this be from training antagonist exercise or maybe just more great genetics ?

Got to be both.

Buster happened to get the first repeat Megos' 8B 'Pinky Perky' on the board today! (possibly the first repeat)

@@AndrewMacFarlane Is that said to be harder than Malcolm Smith's classic 'Perky Pinky' 8B?
@AndrewMacFarlane4 жыл бұрын
@@aidanscarffe5256 I'll have to ask Buster how they felt but it seems they're both nails. Only 6 8B climbs on the board (hardest grade on it) and I think Buster's done all but one of them.

Is this where they created the phrase "campus" for climbing with no feet?
@luketufts68274 жыл бұрын
@@matthewbudd761 yes, he put it up in a university gym called ‘The Campus Centre’ so that’s why it’s called the ‘campus’ board
