I preferred the first drummer more. He plays cleanly, and I think it suits the song better. Don’t get me wrong, the second drummer was also good. But when playing with other musicians it’s important to keep in mind that you, the drummer should not be the center of attention in this situation.

Both of the drummers are great and I don’t think either of you are hateful on men or women I just think that there’s a different preference and idea on what is “good”. The situation with men and women is just built up anger that is just making a swinging pendulum because men had been unjustly judging women for years and now women unjustly judge men. I hope people can come to a point of seeing people as people rather than “lesser people” or people assuming the worst when they read only one little comment that the person made. There’s no facial or physical image for you to know what the intent truly is.

I’d also say the first guy had more precision and technical playing, and the second drummer had more fill focus and less complexity. I’d probably give it to the first guy cause it fit the vibe and feeling if the song better. The second drummer added some more emotion and feeing but not enough to make it stand out too much. They were both great, just the first guy felt more appropriate and had the style and skill you’d want to bring into the studio, the second drummer had that lively and fun style you’d want at a live show and in a rock band just lacking some of the complexity that would work better for the song.

@@Cybah hence why they clarified, studio VS live. In a studio recording, you're not gonna see what anybody's doing, you'll only hear what their playing sounds like. It's best to just do what's necessary and play it safe, and if they want more then they'll ask for more. In a live performance, part of your job is to get everyone hype and bring the energy. Everyone's having fun and it's all in the moment. that's why the 2nd one is good for live.

I love the look of concentration on his face when he pieced together the core rhythm to go with, and then he just ran with it. He's a lot like 8bitdrummer - once he pieces together the core of a track, he can reliably drum along to it provided there's no insane twists and turns in the track.

Nah that’s just the difference between someone who has more experience vs someone with not as much. Based on the guys confidence sounds like he’s maybe played for less than 5 years or possibly longer but not seriously the whole time. But it’s enough to where he can recognize the time signature and the overall flow of the song in just 2 measures and can come up with a simple groove to lay down that fits the song. The girl more represents someone newer who can definitely play pretty decently, but has little or no experience with coming up with their own drum parts to an existing song. She likely only plays along to existing drum parts so she didn’t really know how to come up with something of her own, which explains why she went more for “fancy” fills and played a little louder because she has less experience in being able to match a groove to a song and stay behind the music without being lost. She’s still absolutely decent, but it just means she’s less experienced

Both drummers were awesome and amazing. They both had their own style and made you feel the song in different ways. First one was like listening to the radio going down the highway grooving while singing with it. The second one was like being at a concert and dancing with it, while singing to it. Both were unbelievable drummers who can kick a**. I love this song and praying that you release it, if you haven’t already. I pray that you got their information from them.

absolutely not the original sound. 99% sure it was overdubbed from a studio or even samples after the video was recorded. especially since the rest of the sound is clearly recorded in a studio. I have recorded drums with 10+ mics in a studio and still not had them sound this good. you can’t get a snare sound that clean without a pencil mic on the top and bottom

I actually really like the second one more, I feel like they blew it out of the water. The first one was really good. but I was surprised/ impressed by the second one, their beat was quicker and had more flare/ tricks to it. The first one seemed more simple. They were both very good tho! ❤ I think I'd just prefer to listen to the 2nd beat more often if it were in a song, I feel id get bored of the 1st quicker since it's more simple. Both were still very very good in their own style.

​​@@saphireorchid2709 the thing is, the first one has way more expression in his hi-hat pattern and uses the hi-hat more to fill it up. The second one uses the toms more and has a heavier sticking on the hi-hat, which is more commonly seen in modern rock/metal music. I'd say the first one fits better as the song is fairly simple and the softer nuanced sounds of a hi-hat works better here, the louder sounds of the snare and toms the girl used kinda overtook the simple and laid back nature of the song. From an audience perspective the second one sounds and looks more impressive, but the first one fits way more seamlessly into the song. I'm actually more impressed with the first one as using the hi-hat like that is pretty difficult imo. The first one really had the finesse down on the hi-hat. Less is more is a saying for a reason. They're both great and skilled drummers though.

The first one had more of like a low key but great beat the matched perfectly while the second really took more of the tension from the singer and more on her by all the notes and waves of hitting it. Pretty dope to see two different styles but work so beautifully with your song which makes me think your song really is the goat by being able to adapt to other peoples perception on it. The first dude easily, absolutely on point for an on the fly first listen. Good groove, nice fills. He had the tempo nailed.(snare fill at the end of his part) Second lady gave it her all and definitely surprised me, but was just all over the place.
