You hit the Dream Ball in your prizes, which allows you to search your deck and play any Pokémon. Likely...no. Fun... yes!

i have to say something here. the idea started a late night after testing me and svendsen randomly came up with the idea for the format today it evolved pass any expectations altho i think the firsst format created was goat cuz it started out with like standard format cards not a compleete mirror but like 40 cards mirror, this was not inspired by anyother youtube content what so ever, if anything it was inspired by garydos deck played around that time

You can take it up with Svendsen. He made a document explaining the origin of Epic Splash :)

I still haven’t watched Steffen’s video yet, so maybe take this with a grain of salt: But if I remember correctly, I watched the DarkIntegralGaming+YellowSwellow KZbin-video, and then asked if you wanted to play the Epic Splash-format with me :) After that we experimented with different lists and it evolved from there. But I’m almost 100% sure that I watched the KZbin-video and told you about it afterwards and then we played, but it’s a long time ago, so it’s completely understandable if memory is blurry, and that’s why I also can’t say I’m absolutely 100% sure, but I’m 99,9% sure, though :) I do think you should get credit for the beginning of the evolution of the format, though, but I think there was too many people for Steffen to give credit to, so therefore he just wrote that one could write to him if one wanted to have credit. I personally told him that I didn’t need to get any credit (but he gave it to me anyway, since he’s a great guy), since the most important thing for me is that people enjoy the format and I don’t really care personally about getting credit (but I do 100% understand if people want to get credit, and I also wrote the people I could remember (including you), but there are so many people now, that I think it’s too much for Steffen to write it in the video, and I know that’s why he wrote in the description that one could message him if they wanted credit). But I do think one should get credit where it’s due, and I know that Steffen thinks so too, and I know that he will definitely give credit to the people who want it, if they write to him, but I do understand that it’s a lot of work, and that no matter what some important credits would be lost (because of the amount of people deserving credit), and therefore it didn’t really make sense for him to try to give credit to everyone involved, and I think he just chose a few that he knew for sure, but idk. Btw I’m writing this on the bus home, so there’s probably a lot of mistakes, so also maybe take that with a grain of salt :)

@@111cap111 i remeber it as a couple of testing nights with you talking about epic splash mirror i have no memory of you mention any other source of insperation so since it was around a time where magickarp got played in garydos, i just assumed thats where the indea started from. but i will allways see epic splash mirror as your and mine little love child, how the format changed was never in my interest, it changed to much, imo too many ppl got involved to crazy ass ideas that ruind this actual skill based flip format, the break was fun exodia is really misplaced and playing anything but epic splash is just way to ruin the actual foormat if you ask me. theres a reason i left pokemon, and its based on stuff like this. we cant have nice things :/

That’s fair, Gyarados was really popular in that era with exactly that Magikarp, so it does make a lot of sense :) Fortunately, the Epic Splash format has many different variations, so hopefully everyone has a version that they enjoy, and hopefully they can gather people to play the version they enjoy the most :) I’m personally always ready to do some epic splashing, no matter what version it is, so I’m always up for a match or 10000 ;p

Love it! Can I use 5 different Wigglytuff instead of eeveelutions? No particular reason at all

We will currently stick with Eeveelutions as they already offer a wide variety of cards to choose from. I will note your suggestion down for future consideration. :)

I'd already started on gathering the cards from Jesper's list to play locally but now knowing it might be an open constructed format is very intriguing. One of our locals had played it at NAIC 2019 so I wonder how the list has changed over the years

The list changed a bit over the years. The ready to print list available is also different from the one Jesper posted. Hopefully we can update you soon about the new developments :)

@@SteffensClassroom I love that aspect of people are experimenting with it. for ease I'm gonna build 60 card mirror first. What are you thoughts on jespers epic splash vs mew world order as far as 60 card mirror formats go?
@SteffensClassroom
@SteffensClassroom Жыл бұрын
Hah I'm ofc baised towards Epic Splash. However, it would be difficult to know how such a mirror would go. Epic Splash has additional rules to it 😄
@SteffensClassroom
@SteffensClassroom Жыл бұрын
But 60 card mirror is a good idea. That is the original Epic Splash. The new developments still need to be tested a bit but it would open it up as an official side event format of successful.
