Hey everyone so @prostriking did the main bullet points to this one and I added on the premise of boxer swarmer, and some additional points. It's really rare for me to collaborate like this but his work is fantastic so I felt comfortable. Please let me know what you think! If you guys liked this then I can get more content out by working with him more in the future. Having other creators make videos for the channel after I retire could be a way to keep it going as well. So please let me know your thoughts! Happy training :)

I hope you'll come back on Cotto to cover his underrated defensive skills, as well. One of the last few greats who extensively used Foreman's cross guard, he supplemented this with one-handed parries, shoulder rolls, deep knee bends, and later quick lateral movement. Coupled with his titanium chin, the man was as unbreakable as they come.

Hey TMMA, wanted to write down my feelings for this channel for my deep appreciation for this channel. I hope you read this, So I wanted to express my deep gratitude for the discussions on your channel. I think no other channel on youtube promote learning the way you do. Last video where you were discussing your love for Muhammad Ali, I realised how deeply in love with masculinity I am. Recently with the rise of red pilled grifters, The mention of masculinity leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I really want people to understand how martial arts are true expressions of oneself, masculinity doesnt just mean to be physically imposing on others to act tought, but to be sure of oneself. its not about others its about understanding yourself, Masculinity can be whatever you want it to be. To put a definition on masculinity (which is what so often there red pillers do) is to limit yourself. In the words of Friedrich Nietzche, where he is criticising stoics,"Living according to life, how could you do any differently" basically asking, how can you put a definition on what is natural for a man to do and what is not. To be masculine is to be sure of yourself. Thank you tmma

love cotto. his downside was his lack of defense and also his offense was great but wasn’t the best in the division. if he had learned to block and counter more, then unload when the time was right, he might’ve been an all time great. I’ll never forget the revenge fight with Margarito. I remember watching the first fight thinking “margarito’s power came out of nowhere and very sudden” Cotto outclassed him in both fights but the revenge fight he held back so he could dish out the punishment and payback from the pearl of plaster wraps that he had to endure in the first fight

Lovemore N'dou demonstrated how to thwart Cotto's swarming pressure style. That fight doesn't get much attention because it was forgotten on the undercard of Juan Manuel Marquez vs Manny Pacquiao 1. And it was Cotto's first big match against a real opponent, other than stopping a faded Victoriano Sosa before facing N'dou. Cotto tried to pressure and swarm N'dou early but N'dou's solid defense, counters and his own pressure gradually forced Cotto to switch tactics. By round 7 Cotto was uncharacteristically dancing backward and laterally. In some rounds he rivaled Ray Leonard and other mobile defensive masters in terms of cautious mobility while staying in the fight. There were some boos from the audience throughout the fight, which wasn't boring but was a technical chess match between a tough, savvy veteran and a young prospect who couldn't afford a loss on an HBO high profile match. I never saw Cotto box that way again. Even in flights where he'd have been better off moving and boxing defensively, he continued trying to overwhelm opponents. I thought then, in 2004, and still think a draw would have been okay for Cotto vs N'dou. It certainly wasn't as big a margin as the judges scores indicated. If you skipped ahead to round 7 and watched until the end you'd probably call the fight for N'dou. But Cotto developed into an all time great versatile boxer. I was very surprised that he was still strong enough to compete above welterweight. He didn't look emaciated or even particularly cut and dried out at 140. But that's the miracle of modern training... and whatever else goes on behind the scenes. 🤫

Boxers that are classed as swarmers are usually light punchers, and they usually crowd their opponents and smother their work. Maybe even a Henry Armstrong would be described as a swarmer as he put his head on your chest and worked away nonstop for 15 rounds.
