That inflatable tent is *STILL* way too heavy. My Free Spirit Recreation Odyssey is only 134lbs. There is another inflatable I know of, Gentle Tent, It's only 68lbs.
@OzarkOverlandAdventures4 ай бұрын
How is 118lbs "way too heavy"? It's lighter than your Free Spirit. The GT tent is nice but VERY expensive, does not have a hard floor for half the tent, and the pump isn't integrated into the tent and not being counted in the weight of the tent.
@marceld60614 ай бұрын
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Yes, I admitted that it was lighter than my tent by a whopping 16 pounds. But compare it to the FSR Aspen Lite at only 100 lbs. and it becomes the porker by *18 pounds* There are no air bladders that could leak, a similar: size; shape; materials/construction and price. The Atmos Air is 37 pounds lighter than the smaller version of the Intrepid tent that you have- so a better demonstration of weight savings? But compared to only 68 lbs of that European one? That's crazy light. You have more than a lot of room to carry a pump and still be ahead. Sure, they are expensive- I know I won't be buying one anytime soon! One other "deception" in these tent demos that gets me? They always show them at waist high. I had a soft shell in the past and when it was over your head I found them a lot harder to pack away. Love your content Matt, (especially Goose and Izzy)and all I am saying is that there are others options for lightweight tents if you *really* want to save weight. 👍🏾
@OzarkOverlandAdventures4 ай бұрын
@@marceld6061 Yes there are other lightweight options and everyone's needs are going to be different. You aren't going to put an Intrepid like mine on a Rav4. The Aspen Lite is a smaller tent when open. There's compromises no matter which option you choose and this is simply another option. And more options are good for the consumer. Aside from the GT (which I had never heard of before) this new tent is ONE of the lightest options available and provides more interior space than anything other than the GT tent. I appreciate your opinion but think your claim of "way too heavy" is just silly when compared to anything other than the GT.
