The economist gets these results from a SURVEY they put out. They don't do any real research. The surveys are probably disproportionately distributed into larger populations ie Europe, Asia and big American cities. They probably don't take anything into account besides food and housing. If they took, gas, electricity, education, the cost of transportation (owning and operating a car), cost of entertainment, cloths ect. Not to mention average income.. Alsmot every list of unaffordable places Vancouver is neer the top

Yes I’ve grown up in Vancouver all my life & I just recently had to move out of the city since it’s sooo expensive… even to rent a small room is at least $1200, whereas a nice 2 bedroom apartment costs that much where I am now, but my commute to work takes over an hour now. It’s crazy. Regular working class ppl are all being forced to move away. I loved living in the area I grew up in, it’s just not the same living away from there.

It becomes meaningless Living in Hong Kong as the economic systems, Legal systems and Administrative systems have been destroyed. The money will be easily transferred in but maybe difficult to transferred out. People may not be able to speak freely as some new laws' restrictions imposed.
