The Most Expensive LGA775 CPU Goes on LN2 - Intel QX9770 Overclocked to 6.13GHz

Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 has always been a bit weird CPU if you ask me. Even today in 2023/2024 it often costs around 400 euros on sites like eBay. Absolutely senseless price for a 16-year-old CPU or what you think? I accidentally got one of them with a Rampage Extreme I bought recently, so I decided to give this one a go as it seemed very strong on water cooling.
I was correct and already on first boot I was at 5.85GHz which made the multicore top scores very easy, and the single threaded stuff went up to 6.13GHz. Fastest Yorkfield CPU on some of the tests, but of course would be awesome to find even better QX9650.

Bought mine from Finland two and half years ago for 125 euros, almost impossible to find one locally but got lucky. Ebay prices are high but at least from there you can find them if you have the money.

I doubt those listings on ebay actually sell for that price. I really enjoy LGA775, back then I was into the wolfdale CPUs but my mobo wont take my E0 stepping with its bios, I'd love a yorkfield to replace the Q6600 in my XP gaming machine. VERY COOL VIDEO! Congrats

It could be with this model. The Nvidia chipsets are usually heavily limited on FSB but performance is good.

Too much for a CPU that still routes memory bandwith through the chipset so the chipset gets quite hot and need a lot of cooling.

Hei, Mulla on kaksi Xeon X3330:aa, R0 stepping ja yksi Q6600 G0. Jos haluat kokeilla kulkuja niin voisin vaihtaa nuo kolme yhteen johonkin vähän nopeampaan Core 2 Quadiin. Muuten lahjoittaisin mutta on ns. daily driver tuo 775-alusta nyt :)
