Just FYI I had a much easier time doing this by making one spreadsheet and sending it over. They just need artist, song title, and roles. Took me like 20 mins to compile like 70 credits that way!

Hey Colt, I love your videos. I like you. I will say that wherever comes success so to comes its detractors and critics. Some critics do provide constructive input for those open to hearing things they could work on. Making a video to defend yourself is a natural reaction but can also be viewed as defensive and cynical by some. I always thought it best to just keep my head down and plow forward and let my work speak for itself. On another note if you are going to make money from sponsors it will always leave some wondering if you aren’t just doing a soft sell on everything you create material for. I don’t have a problem with anyone making money to support their family so it doesn’t make a difference to me. I don’t know you but I air to the default position that you’re a good guy even though I don’t know you. Keep up the good works.

It's a bit confusing for me, as I can't easily take credits with name before marriage, after marriage and through my band, because I first was with PRO GEMA and now with BMI...but yeah, whatever, nice tip with Musio. ❤

There is nothing to prove to anybody! The memories we make with friends when creating music is worth millions more than the gratitude from people we don't even know. Quincy has got over 20 Grammy's and tons of other awards but at the end of the day he seems to speak more about the friends and the memories made more than the accolades! You're doing a great job brother! Let's keep making memories!

The KZbin streams I'd care about the most... I use KZbin for music always... otherwise I download a song and have it physically on my phone so no one would know how often I plays those songs. There are probably many that do also... or any version of that. I make sure I have downloaded a song because I have wanted to play music and not had signal or wifi many times for whatever reason... again, many others will have done that. Also, anyone getting music for free will be using a KZbin MP3 downloader will click the videos so that will count as a play and give you numbers even if someone is getting music for free.

I share a name with a very famous British producer. I’ve worked on many major and indie label records as well as hundreds of independent productions, Broadway plays, movie soundtracks etc I battled allmusic for years trying to get my credits corrected. It was completely a waste of time. Credits have always been a problem But especially today with all the digital methods for music being delivered.

I’m trying to build one of these for voiceover actors and mixers in the TV/Radio/Film game. If you see a movie trailer/promo/commercial with my voice on it, and like it, and want to hire me, you have no idea who I am, or how to contact me or my agent. Sux. Thank you for all of your knowledge.

This is awesome! Do you know if or how they go about verifying a credit claim? Like if they reach out to the published artist to confirm/deny the claimants involvement?
@ColtCapperrune Жыл бұрын
That might be the only potentially sketchy part about this… I don’t believe they do. I would imagine if you found a song that someone else had already claimed, then it would be up to the both of you to see who has more proof.

It’s not about subscribers on KZbin, it’s the only way to level up in this career field is to have accurate credits. it’s important to people scouting producers, and mixers. But I appreciate the sentiment!
@HalcyonGuitars Жыл бұрын
Can’t you just have a track list on your website?
@ColtCapperrune Жыл бұрын
You certainly could, but that would be significantly harder and take significantly more time in my opinion. You would need to get the cover, art, and go in and edit your website for every single song. Also, with this platform people can listen to the song right from the platform. You would have to upload Masters, if you even have them, to your website for every single song.

Have you heard about the Swedish platform where you can list all the participants to you songs (released and unreleased)? The old KZbinr guitarist who disses the charts from time to time interviewed the guys who created this platform. As far as I can remember they’re related to Abba and/or produced Abba’s latest release or something. I know I’m not making much sense but Google it and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Anyways, their stuff looks pretty solid legally. Who makes money with music anymore anyways? 😅

Hi Colt, You have it twisted. People with 'credits' are usually shameless self promoters. That's just how it works. Getting that 'big studio' break sure helps too. Remember Eddie Kramer ? Jimi Hendrix put him on the map, and the rest is history. Anyway, if you want to be 'recognized', you have to work at it. You never heard of my Father, yet we're all a product of what he accomplished in the 'pop' world. ....and so on. Bill P.
