I have a Rolleiflex 2.8A and a Kodak Retina IIIa. They're both made in Germany. In the next episode, Argus cameras are mentioned. They were great rivals of Kodak. In the beginning of the film 'Philadelphia Story', there's an actress who interprets a photograph reporter holding an Argus C3. I have a 1942 Argus C2, a 1956 Argus Matchmatic and also a 1942 Argus A2B. Looking forward for the next episode.

The Exacta was originally a 127 camera, but with the success of the Leica and the 35mm format, Exacta went to 35mm.

My friend has a Contaflex with 2 lenses. The lenses for the camera are ,sometimes, more expensive and indeed more rare than the camera.

Wondering if you’ll mention the Kodak Ektra (1939) - one of the most innovative cameras of its time.

The cutting of the film within the body is a genius offering. But what happens for the rest of the roll that doesn't have a cannister? Or did I miss something?
@Whywas6scared2 ай бұрын
It is the exposed part of the film that doesn't have a cannister. It would have to be removed in a darkroom and processed immediately.
@vlogmaster95682 ай бұрын
You can use 2 film canisters. Exaktas and most Exas use removable take up spools which can be replaced with another film canister. You simply wind the exposed film into the take up canister.
@Whywas6scared2 ай бұрын
@vlogmaster9568 Interesting. How does that work? I can see that the camera would wind the cannister spindle from the top, but how would you engage the end of the film inside the cannister? I've never used reusable cannisters.
@ka4estvo2 ай бұрын
@@Whywas6scaredafter cutting the film? The starting spool loses a couple of frames because you have to load it again, e.i. cut the leader, take out the input canister, place a new one and wind.
@Whywas6scared2 ай бұрын
@ka4estvo I realise the situation with losing some frames and recutting the film leader, but I don't understand how it would engage inside the cannister. Now I think of it though, it's a silly question as if it weren't possible then the cannister wouldn't be classed as reusable.
