The closing of the Attila song really saves it from being left off my playlist. Love how they changed up the time signature at the end there and went with Fronz’s signature fast vocal style. I love it when bands stray from standard structures and predictable patterns

Exactly that's what makes a band unique if every song has the same cookie cutter structure it gets old very quick, throwing something new at us out of nowhere mid song is so satisfying and shows a bands creativity. Absolutely agree!

Emmure really changed with Look At Yourself. Joshua Travis is for sure in a good place. They went on a whole new level with this album and Hindsight seems to go that way too. I loved every single song and aspect of the last album and I'm really hyped for the new album

I'm a fan of Attila simply because I like how fun their music is, I've always thought they had a pretty good sound and I personally really like Fronz's vocals. I've never been hugely into Emmure I like a handful of songs but I never thought their music was anything special. I think Attila gets too much hate, they're not anything amazing but you gotta admit they're better than a lot of other bands in that genre.

Honestly I love both bands. Emmure has always been like Black Tongue to me where they are heave for the sake of heavy. Attila actually has a bunch of good shit musically too, they're just goofy which isn't for everyone(I get people not wanting the rapping shit too) but both bands are fun to listen to when you're in the mood, and bring it in concert.

Attila was a band that I never enjoyed for a couple reasons: 1. Their music was never ‘serious’; they dramatize topics quite a bit and they don’t put ‘heart’ into their music like we would hear from other bands in the Deathcore scene. I’m sure they do try to make their music good and put generous effort into it, but it’s devoid of meaning & it feels ‘hollow’ in a sense. 2. Vocals; Fronz’s vocals were really unappealing, especially when he goes to ‘rap’ verses, and he puts his voice in high-pitch, distorts it, speaks fast in that tone, it’s mixing genres that seem to blend as well as oil and water, it’s different for sure, but just not really good. Emmure really isn’t horrible, but the mixing they have on their records just doesn’t do it for me. Solar Flare Homocide was decent enough, but it didn’t really “empower” people or “kick-ass”, it didn’t make us want to disrespect our surroundings, it doesn’t feel hardcore enough. I haven’t looked into their discography much either, but I think they could benefit from some more hard-hitting riffs, more powerful drums, and more low pitched vocals, while maintaining their own unique sound.

I somewhat like with what Emmure did with the mix in Frankie's voice. It kinda reminds of Nails a bit with that over distorted and lofi backing dupe track. I kinda like the way some of them also clip a bit

It's funny you say his voice is too edited on the Emmure track. That "gargling" type sound you hear is probably from just screaming like a maniac with no technique or regard to make it sound a certain way. Listen to some of the older Zao albums and Dan got the same kind of tone. Some people don't care for it but it's a lot more raw than a lot of the layering on that Attila track.
