I’m from Plymouth, England and it’s good to see Justin Lee Collins interview Steven Segal as Justin is from Bristol which is fairly close to Plymouth and is from my end of the country (well it’s a lot closer than most English people on tv come from, as they all seem to be from the big cities like London, Liverpool, Manchester etc). And to hear Justin speak with that strong Somerset accent to Segal is great and Segal was probably thinking “what’s this guy saying?” 😂

How’s it going man? That was a great interview with the great master! That story about Gene Labell is true only it didn’t happen exactly like has been til by Kevin Hart. They did have an altercation. Steve was talking about that he had a way to escape any choke hold. So Gene had him in a choke hold and Steven hit Gene in the balls. Then In reaction gene body slammed Seagal, slamming him flat on his back. That was the end of the really quick interaction. I guess Stevens security guy was standing there and watched it happen and Steven gave him the sign to back off and not do anything. Afterwards they brushed it off like it never happened and kept talking. This story only got told afterwards and like most stories that Steven tells it’s been blown out of proportion and twisted into what it is today. I heard this actual version from someone who got first hand information from people who were there on set, and extensively researched the names involved and has verified what stuntmen were on set and present. There’s also some film that exists of this incident which shows the people who were there. So when I saw this and it was explained, it made alot of sense. Why Steven couldn’t just admit what really happened, who knows. It’s definitely a better version for him from the version that’s been widely shared and believed. But we know he can’t admit he was ever beaten or anyone ever got the better of him. Some of the people involved were part of a group of martial artists who formed a group who challenged Seagal to prove he was a real martial artist but unfortunately it never happened. Steven of course avoided any real confrontation. But they really wanted to beat the crap out of him. The same as the producers wanted Michael Jai White to beat the crap out of him on set because he would often hit stuntmen with full force, often hurting them . Sucker punching them. It’s great that all this stuff has come out and he’s been exposed for the piece of shit he is. It’s crazy because he would have probably been highly respected if he had been honest and respectful. All things a true marshal artist would be. You can’t live a self centered life abusing your position and everyone around you and think it’s not going to come back to haunt you. I’m surprised he doesn’t understand the simple concept of Karma. I’ve heard he was an accomplished Buddha, reborn from a line of great masters . What comes around goes around. All those years of bad behavior are coming back!!

Justin isn’t kissing ass he’s really being sarcastic and taking the piss out off Segal as you can see Justin trying not to laugh or smile at his response plus it’s very much English humour which goes right over 99% of Americans’s heads. He’s also there to make a program about Segal and he knows if he doesn’t play up to him Segal will not continue with the filming and Justin won’t have his show. But knowing Justin (he’s a comedian) and his sense of humour (I don’t know him personally but through his work) I know he’s being sarcastic with a lot of his questions and “kissing ass” to take the piss out of Segal by playing up and feeding his massive ego. Also the reason you don’t see him in America is because of his Somerset accent and people who have strong English accents like Geordie (Newcastle), Scouse (Liverpool), Mancunian (Manchester), Brummie (Birmingham) because Americans can’t understand them and I’ve seen American programs with an English person with one off those accents talk and they put subtitles on the screen and if you have to put up subtitles when someone talks then they don’t make it in America.
