Look I'm glad we're all enjoying Wandavision :') It rocks! I will say I did a poor job of explaining the link between the paradox and Teleportation. The main reason why it's similar is if the teleportation is destroying your atoms when you teleport. It's not like just disassembling a lego set and clicking the pieces back together later so much it's destroying the lego set and then using the fabric of the universe to create new identical lego pieces. Sorry for the poor explanation

Lavaridge definitely seems like one of those very old Japanese villages that are deep in the countryside and are relatively hard to reach using conventional transportation methods. Lavaridge doesn't a lot of thru traffic, and a lot of their commodities are probably made in-town. The Poke Mart likely uses potions made from herbs cultivated from the same farms as the herb shop, and may even have a Poke Ball crafter that builds their stock of Poke Balls. It's hard to live under a volcano, but maybe living there has benefits due to the sooty soil giving the plants grown more nutrients. Life finds a way.

I’m pretty sure that the first “problem” you suggested isn’t actually a problem. Using the Earth as your “anchor” (so everything moves relative to Earth instead of vice versa) should make Earth’s movement through space negligible when you’re teleporting around the surface of it. Maybe the rotation could be an issue, but if you don’t carry over your previous momentum (and immediately adopt a momentum to match the new location), then it shouldn’t be an issue either. Relativity is weird.
@neonmole94533 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the whole teleportation thing is creepy when you really think about it, same with cloning and transferring of memories. It's one of the reasons why Soma freaked me out so much when I watched a playthrough of it, because the original consciousness is still present while the new one gets to carry on. Michael Crichton, the guy who wrote Jurassic Park, wrote a book that covered time travel in the same way as well, with characters being disassembled down to the atomic level to be reconstructed centuries in the past, and it says that they are killed, but that their memories are still intact so they're still the same people. It's an existential bundle of fun

As for the momentum "issue" it actually isn't an issue. If you were moving to somewhere else with a different rotational momentum it might be an issue but it likely won't be since you're just matching the same rotational speed and directional momentum as the planet you're on. Blackthorn City has everything to make you hate it, especially if you plan to challenge Clair. So, first of all, similar to Lavaridge, it's on a mountain. Except instead of having to go through a volcano, you have to go through a really cold cave first. The Gym has plenty of lava though, and I have no idea how it got here, but I fear to think of it too much. All I know is that you can't force me to get inside. Dragon's Den is the last dangerous place around here, but there's Whirlpool there, so surfing is probably not so fun. As such, Blackthorn is probably the worst town in the Pokemon universe, not because of any particular reasons (outside the Gym maybe), but because every part of it is sure to have something you'll dislike.

Its funny because as soon as you said Lavaridge my brain just went "YES!" And, like, not only is it in a near impossible to reach location (just think, the cable car is fairly modern and that only makes it easy to get to the crater not to the city itself which require Jagged Pass) but as brought up with the ash fall, and high elevation probably already making it harder to breath for outsiders, it's dangerous. And an underlying tidbit to all this is how the game seems to acknowledge it since Lavaridge is famous for its herbal medicine and the hot springs are said to have some near magical properties. A few NPCs say they do the hot springs daily, maybe out of tradition but also maybe it's the only way it's citizens have lived as long as they have is a certain dependency of daily purification from the poisons in the area. Or just stay inside since most besides like a kid or two everyone outdoors is at the hot spring / sand bath area which no surprise is attached to the Pokemon Center. Maybe so it can be free to any visitor as they may need the healing bath as soon as they come out of the Jagged Pass too. It's an unspoken reality to the in-verse world that players just don't have to think about. 😱

Teleportation doesn't necessarily have to consist of your atoms being ripped apart and a new version of you being created (which, arguably this happens all the time since our cells are constantly dying and being replaced). But, teleportation could effectively work through concerted motion of your atoms. Electrons in your body can move at quite incredible speeds and can be incredibly long distances away from your body. For example, there is a discrete probability that at any point in time an electron that is associated with one of your atoms could be on the moon. Electron movements in real life are incredibly random though and have no effect on our body. But, this begs the question of, what if every electron belonging to one of your atoms suddenly made a concerted movement? The electrons would likely drag that atom with it. So, what if every electron in your body made the same concerted movement? How quickly would your atoms move with those electrons?
@sagacious033 жыл бұрын
Okay analysis, although I can't really say that I feel that I entirely agree. We see that Teleport works, no matter what unofficial fan theories may say. Teleport doesn't take us to space, planetary rotation be darned; We see this because Teleport has never taken anyone to space by accident in Pokemon, even when in the anime, Togepi, a Baby Pokemon, used it via complete chance with Metronome. Likewise, no Abra or Ralts will accidentally space you.& Pokedex entries have detailed Abra being known to be confused when they teleport to unfamiliar locations by accident; That the Abra are found, observed & documented doing as such implies they're still on Earth, not to mention alive. Plus, there's the old man who has his Abra teleport people as a service in the Johto Pokemon League; It would be strange for someone to spend their old age offering teleporting to people right before they challenge the league, only for none of the people to return after they get teleported away to prepare or such; If he were trying to help people be ready to challenge the league, it'd seem against his character to do something his observations tell him is reducing the number of challengers. & If Teleport it transported you to another, identical universe, it would have to be one without a pre-existing you, in which case, why would anyone -Ex: Your rival.- recognize you? If it DID have a pre-existing you in this new universe, you'd now have a doppleganger running about. Hope you like fighting an identical team to become Pokemon League Champion. Still, a decent video. Thanks for uploading!

When it comes to the ship/Trigger's broom, I say the original ship/broom with all the parts replaced is the real one, since that has the essence and history of the original, but a new one with the original parts would just be that. However, the Sugababes were a 3 piece girl group formed in the 90's, but over the years kept changed members, and ultimately in 2010 they released music with the final lineup change, where not one of the members was in the original lineup. The original 3 members, Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan, formed a group called MKS. And I honestly can't decide which of the two groups is actually the Sugababes.

The solution to the problem is actually quite simple all you have to do is fold space-time onto itself, this is very idea behind Hoopa's rings. I don't have any phobias that make certain modes of travel an issue, but certain travel CONDITIONS can definitely make me anxious. Where I'm from driving on snow is just plain hazardous (we don't get snow or any winter weather often and roads aren't built to handle it, also winter tires are not legally allowed). So routes like Sinnoh's route 216 and Kalos's route 17 are sources of anxiety. Walking isn't an option really and riding a Mamoswine cuts through the snow drifts but does NOTHING to protect you from those cold winds. As it is mechanical travel is hazardous and pokemon travel is frigid cold. I would want to skip those routes altogether

To respond to teleportation thing. On point 1: Relativity. Besides, the fact that Teleport can work in the first place implies that, if it isn't interdimensional, it must be relativistic teleportation. On point 3: Souls. The existence of ghosts and channelers and such means that souls exist, which, if readily measurable, can easily prove if the person on the other end is the same as the original. Perhaps more supernaturally inclined trainer classes could be very useful for that. On point 2: If it were that easy to warp things between existences, why would the Cozmo et al require so much Infinity Energy, mega life energy, and a pure meteor shard to shift the meteorite to another existence in the Delta Episode? Why are Alola's box legendary trio so special if they can merely create Ultra Wormholes? ...I mean, my counterpoints aren't the strongest, but I still feel like it's no so typical for 'mons to be able to shift realities. Other than that, uh... I'm afraid of heights, too. --And Hoenn needs to get the region in order. It's a problem. "Yeah, I mean there's just too much water! Seven point eight out of ten. Too much wat--" No, get outta here Magma Grunt Kallie.

I feel seen, also have a bad fear of heights. Space Needle and Sears tower were some the worst tourist spots for me

I thought you were going to say Dewford because you can get softlocked there (only in the originals; all you have to do is catch an Abra, be sure that the last Pokemon Center you visited was Dewford, take the boat back to Petalburg, then use Teleport. Congratulations, you cannot progress in the game. YIKES). You make a good case for Lavaridge though; it is an extraordinarily inconvenient town to access. Even in the games it's kind of a pain. As cool as Fortree City is, and as much as I like that section of the game in general, I could NOT live there. I have horrible allergies and they say that Bug Pokemon often fly through their windows. I also have a phobia of climbing ladders and rope bridges. Beautiful, creative city.... but my personal hell. LOL.

You would have Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, or a disease caused by ash and toxic particulates.
