I like how you understand Sweets character unlike most people on youtube who just hate him. Good or bad he is one of the most realistic characters and important characters in the game.

Aye, well said. Realistic doesn't equal likable. I'm currently working on a video covering Micah Bell from RDR 2 where this point is crucial.

GTA SA is almost like a Greek tale. CJ is somewhat banished but comes back and goes thru a whole adventure that goes deeper than himself.

Great video, Niko is my personal favorite protagonist. But I can deny CJ is way more iconic, he's honesty the face of GTA protagonists. San Andreas is still one of my favorite games of all time.

He was a good character, in my opinion. You see his growth, love interests, betrayal, and ultimately CJ's redemption. I would smoke a blunt with dude. Like you said, he was not as deep as Niko or extremely cunning and ruthless. But you are who you kick it with, and how stuck he seems to be has always felt relatable to me. Like he is almost a victim of his circumstances, and that is the life he chose. Great video, subscribed

Yeah, I know where you're coming from, it's quite frustrating that CJ gets no credit for all the work he put in, not to mention that he got Sweet out of jail, but that's just one perspective. From Sweet's view, his younger brother didn't take care of Grove Street while he was locked up.

Something I just noticed while watching the scene where Big Smoke makes his meme order. He order everything everyone else orders but he also orders more on top of everyone else's order. And I think that's pretty telling of his character because while I do think Big Smoke likes the gsf and by extention is friends with everyone in the car symbolized by him ordering their orders. Big smoke reveals to CJ that he has betrayed everyone he has every known and loved in the pursuit of money and power at the end of the game. Big smoke has always wanted than just GSF and by extention being a lacky to the ganglife. This is symbolized by Big Smoke one upping every else in the car by ordering their orders and more food on top of it. And now that I think about Big Smoke probably didn't even eat all that food because it's way to much for one person no matter how big Big Smoke is. My headcannon is that Big Smoke bought all the food for either the Ballas or the cops that frequently visit his house.

No, he‘s just ordering for the boys, forwarding their orders to the clerk. So two number 9s (for CJ and Ryder) and because it‘s easier to order it in that row, he orders a number 9 large on top of that for him. A number 6 with extra dip for Sweet and the rest is for Smoke aswell. So all he ordered for himself was number 9 large, a 7, two 45s and a large soda.

Gotta love a BJ joke from Tony Hawk to start things off. Good analysis and I really need to play this game. Love hearing Sam Jackson as a voice actor in a game. Rockstar has a good track of voice acting in general, it seems.

Yeah, he killed it. Sad that there haven't been any interviews with him about this performance, but then again, being a voice in the game back then didn't mean the same as it does today.

What i like about cj is that despite getting screwed by tenpenny multiple times throughout the story he still respected him as in he knows tenpenny is straight up evil but because he's a cop he didn't wanna kill him halfway through the story he would most likely have carl arrested if he were to go after him early on, but no instead he went after him till the end of the game

This was amazing. I truly believe GTA V did so well in some part because of how GREAT GTA SA was. It just hits all the boxes and more. I mean it has this grounded family drama AND the ability to do a drive-by with a f****** JETPACK!! Lol. Thanks for posting. I’m glad I stumbled here. Also the game looks amazing in your video! After seeing your video you did before about Niko i was excited about this. Only to be slightly let down by seeing the remastered version. I think the OG copy would have been 10/10, not for nostalgia. Just the quality of that release is subpar. (Commenting for algae of the rhythm mostly)

He is what a GTA character needs to be and be nothing more than that . Personally the other mc's just were too annoying for my taste except for micheal . Every other GTA character sounds so pretentious and are simply not written keeping in mind the ludo narrative dissonance that will happen when the player will actually do something contrary to what the mc stands for and that makes player disconnect with the story automatically . Playing gta sa is such a homely feeling with CJ which no other mc gives to me personally not denying their depth or anything but I really feel like that . I hope jason from 6 is more like ryan gosling in personality that would make the game for me . Rant over .
