make sure you replace the thermal pads on the mobo! i just changed mines they where in ruin! and the pcb changed colors from the heat! i never been able to close my case side panel due to heat generation hahahaha

i'd also recomend you use only a 2xsli/xfire for 2x16 leaving 8 lanes for pcie adapter cards 1@4x for nvme for 2.5gb/s read speed and you could add maybe a wifi card! 16x+16x+4x+4x = 40lanes so you maximise the build potential of this machine, if you got 3 way sli/xfire you need to do 16x/16x/8x which means your card will only run at the slowest speed which is 8x because they talk together in a SLI/xfire setup. please keep me updated!!!!!

That's a Good board but the Asrock Extreme 6 board is better it supports 64Gb of ram, though you probably won't fully utilize that, Extreme 6 asrock board is at the top of the list for the AM3+ platform.

4 pin molex is for extra power to the pcie x16 slot. R.O.G. switch is for the dedicated usb port to use seperate laptop or pc for realtime O.C. / tuning ( with usb a to usb a cable and aditional software)

Just been given the formula Z version of this board plus a 9590, an AIO liquid cooler, corsair vengeance ram a Radeon Rx480 and a 750W psu, impressive machine for its age which also doubles as a space heater :)

I bought one on eBay last year for $300 hoping to super overclock my FX8350 and long story short after a lot of hair pulling and hours of troubleshooting, could not get it to post. Some of the capacitors on the board looked iffy but to replace them was above my pay grade. I resold the motherboard back on eBay for $150 "as is". Glad you have better luck with this board!

Have had this mobo, along with a fx-8370 and gtx980. Can run most modern games without issue. This is with a solid overclock-4.9ghz

I have 2 of these (sorry mine are formula Z) lol .... they still work one is still boxed only booted once , other in a nzxt switch 810 case!

For just streaming a 3060 Ti should be enough! You can also save some money by downgrading the CPU a bit and increase some performance for free by going 2x8GB RAM.

i'm watching this video on asus crosshair formula Z, AMD 9590 8 core 4.7ghz and amd R9 290x :D i'm about to upgrade this baby with a pcie nvm adapter card with a gen 2 silicone power 1TB nvme on the second pcie slot for 2.2Gb/s 1.6Gb/s read/write speed! its a 9 yo now :D
