This was clearly made for little kids, as demonstrated by the garish color palette, the fact that Theodore Rex acts like a child with ADHD, the sophomoric humor, the fact that the plot is complete nonsense, and the frantic, relentless noisiness. Constant noise and hyperkinetic activity was pretty much a hallmark of '90s kids' movies, because the producers were afraid that since kids have short attention spans, if there was ever a moment when something wasn't happening, they'd get bored and tune out, so we have to have something happening every second to keep them engaged. Meanwhile, as Alison points out, any adults watching would tune out because it quickly just becomes exhausting to watch.

No matter how hard he's tried to make a difference to the dinosaur community, the human cops have just kept slapping him down Now he's thinking that all he needs is one last case to make money to bust this joint, and out of nowhere, Whoopi Goldberg walks into his office like a seductress, she walks up to him, takes the cigarrette from his mouth and says "Born ham, that is basically me"

The number of *BZZZT!*s gets funnier when you remember that this video is a product of two people who have spent five-ten years being professional movie watchers, and yet this movie is so bad that even people whose literal job is "Watch and understand this film/television show" can't get it all right.

Stephen McHattie, the actor you say is almost Lance Henriksen, I always think of as almost Robert Patrick.

I wonder if there is a DVD Double Feature. Theodore Rex and Howard The Duck yeah. Twice the not so liked be everyone movie but when compared which is better by comparison. One is a T-Rex the other is a duck from Planet Earth Duck Dimension. I wonder if hockey is their pastime?

The sad thing is the dinosaur puppet work is actually kinda good for what is a terrible script. Especially in an era when terrible rubber suit work on a budget wasn’t uncommon.

It's definitely the same team that did the Dinosaurs TV series, which was excellent.

It just hit me, the years '95 through '98 were strange times for films. I mean, in what other time would a film like this would be made and theatrically released?
