Picked this up after watching your video. I keep just playing and not even solving cases. I just like experiencing the vibe, wandering the streets, grabbing a lil snack and then drinking so much milk that I get the “nauseous” debuff. This game really does have something special to it and I hope they make something out of it the way you imagine is possible.

One thing I'd love to see shadows of doubt do is attempted murders, hell ones where the murderer actually goes into hiding, rather than you know, just going back to their apartment with their homie or some shite. But given the most recent updates adding new varieties of side objectives + a sniper killer are nice additions. But Wooooooooo yes, I wholly agree on the multiplayer stuff, whether it be having murders occur more often or double murders, and you and your friends either work together to solve one case and then the other or you split up to work on separate cases. This game has a lot of potential and I'm fukn addicted.

I think the game has issues getting into the nitty gritty of a dark detective case, being lured out to the docks by a particularly gruesome and taunting killer for a showdown would be amazing, ofc, its using random generation so this would be an insanely hard thing to do, but i just want more personality, almost, if that makes sense

People really underestimate how much multiplayer disrupts the way the game is designed, and how difficult it is to make online multiplayer in the first place. The changes they would have to make to the game just to add multiplayer to it would probably introduce a ton of bugs to the single player even after they spent a long time making the multiplayer, which they'd then have to fix. It would require them to rethink how a massive amount of the game actually works and possibly even start over. There is no way a team of 3 programmers would make a single player game like this a multiplayer one after the fact. Even if they did, it would take years.

6:06 actually it probably wasn't a glitch SsethTzeentach's video on this game had a case where the victim was stabbed/shot (don't remember) but was able to shoot the suspect before they died So he was able to find the suspect walking to their home bleeding from the gun wound So what I think happened here is that the victim tried to run away but got shot in the leg and then got stabbed to death

I think ideal outcome for the game is that Developer keeps improving game on fundamental level - NPC logic, spawn of clues, types of cases, mechanics and what no, while Community does the headcannon thing, handcraft cases and all the different details to make world feel alive. That way game will not suffer from sudden change in tone or have some sudden twitsts that people dislike, because you can always shrug it off to be someone else's fanfic, so people will create own narratives and follow storylines they like, instead certain things being canon.

Refine the systems and performance, iterate on how interactions work, and flesh out the tutorial so that there's a loose pay-off in terms some sort of unique crime to solve or a super difficult murder that directs you to figure out the major tools available. The initial crime is alright as a basic tutorial, but there's a TON of minute stuff you don't know exist until 30 hours of practice anyway. Anyway, that's a sort of a full release deal. Other than that, a more meandering link system so that you can actually find those who hire hitmen, bribe an enforcer to ignore the crime, or actually hire people to intimidate the player. Would also enjoy a 'notoriety' system where people sort of learn who you are after a number of jobs finished or Social Credit threshold, or even a memory of crimes you've done. Even without that stuff, it's like a 8 or 9/10 game that fills a niche not a lot of games are doing right now.
