Huge tip i learned from somebody's short, you can reopen the context menu of an action by pressing F9 ( as long as you haven't made any other action in the meantime ( scaling / moving ). And Thank you for the tutorial, I've had so much trouble using the grid fill recently while working on my rx-7 fd.
@ArijanRace
@ArijanRace 11 ай бұрын
Good tip, I didn't know that. It would be 10x better if you could still open it after making other actions. Alignments would be so much easier. There must be a way to create this.

Actually if you select a corner vertex as the last selection, blender will automatically calculate the best grid fill option (most of the time) so you don’t have to play around with the settings

a minor tip: select the vertex in the corner when useing grid fill. that way blender will more often calculate everthing already correct and you dont have to count edges and fiddle around with the menu.

Ah, I was confused because you mentioned a "vanishing fillet", which is an uncommon polygonal modeling term. :P Polygonal modeling complex curvature like cars is all about placing verts very carefully and deliberately in order to avoid surface imperfections. CG Masters has arguably the best car modeling tutorials if you're interested.@@gibson2623

Nope. You never try to model both sides of the car. You always mirror it. Specially the surfaces that span from one side to another. You only model the other side if it is meant to be different, like the side mirrors.
@davexbit
@davexbit 10 ай бұрын
So this method is how you build in nurbs modeling by setting up the UV spans of a surface. Whether it's a 3rd degree or 5th degree surface. This does allow lots of control and consistency of surface. Nice to see this approach adapted to polys.
