Hey everyone!!!! In today's video I talk about FNAF AR, how it's disappeared, and why I think it's the more important FNAF game right now. I also used this opportunity to talk about the theory I had in my FNAF Timeline video regarding what the blob is and how FNAF AR connects to FNAF Security Breach. Anyways, I hope you enjoy! :)

The problem I always had with Illumix leaving the game is that they hyped up a lot of stuff, one of them was adding security breach characters after the release of the game. And they just left in the middle of that fake hype.

It’s sad that fnaf ar was abandoned, it has a lot of potential, I loved the skins (even if there were lack of characters) the artists did a good job, lefty’s animations and model was made but sadly not released, I hope maybe one day, illumix will learn from their mistakes and return

The blob being made up of AR animatronics would be a great explanation for the puppet's lack of tear tracks. If the AR animatronics are meant to be replicas of all the original/pre-withered ones, then of course the puppet wouldn't have them. It only got the tear tracks after going outside for Charlie and the rain made its face paint run.

And to add fnaf ar is used canon wise to order animatronics for peoples houses for birthdays and events so it's entirely possible it's them in the blob

Yeah same here. I still have the FNAF AR Special Delivery game installed on my phone, an I took a closer look at Funtime Freddy and compared IT too the one in FNAF Security Breach, I even took one last closer look at the blob an yeah... Those are literally AR versions of the Original animatronics just stuffed in there.

Actually I'm pretty sure the explanation for the tear tracks is that it's a sort of paranormal thing that showed up to show that Charlie was possessing it, kinda like seeing blood run down walls of places that are haunted.

Something about Fnaf AR that I still love is my history with the game, well, at least at the beginning. I remember Illumix posting snippets of the full alley image and Reddit piecing it together, and I was one of those people piecing it along with a friend. Then along came an opportunity to get the game earlier than others, and I was one of those who got it! As John mentioned in this video, this was a couple months after HW, and I remember saying to that friend as I was collecting dark remnant in the game that "Imagine if Glitchtrap jumped out at me," and we chuckled at that then not even a minute later, here comes Shadow Bonnie. We laughed so hard about that, and it's still my favorite memory with the franchise.

I did think that people were very harsh on Illumix. They were making this game when covid was happening. They brought out weekly updates for a game that is very complicated and hard to code. And they partnered up with Disney to make an AR game so they needed some time to plan that out and make it. Alot of people just kept complaining about why they have hardly done anything and are being ungrateful for the full entertaining year of 2020 that illumix worked so hard on. I will admit I am also annoyed that they have not done anything for over a year now and they haven't said why. But I do understand that they must be very annoyed and scared because of how the fan base been treating them.

While I do understand Illumix, they did promise to add Lefty, but abandoned the game without saying a word. The fan base was overly harsh on them and the stress they were put under isn’t fair, but if you’re going to promise to add something, get the assets completed and the coding done and have everything ready for implementation but abandon the game without even a goodbye, then that’s kinda…. Not fair either.

It’s because it’s just a fad. Once the novelty wears off of seeing characters in your house (because let’s be honest, no one plays these games in public) it’s pointless. Plus with them being mobile games they’re riddled with overpriced microtransactions meaning if you somehow keep wanting to play, you’ll have to fork over far more money than is reasonable for the full experience. And speaking of playing in your house and not in public, if you’re going to play a fnaf game you have to pay for in your home you might as well play literally any other game in the series which isn’t hard since most of them are readily available on even last gen consoles as well as mobile.

@@venomfan2020it makes sense. Agony and remnant are what creates manifestations of spirits, and only kids can produce remnant. Since shadow Bonnie is presumed to be the soul of the victim of a springlock failure, it’s what makes the most sense.

Another critical facet of SB lore is hidden in the AR emails. While near the final boss in the "true" ending of SB, Freddy does hint that he Glamrock animatronics started to behave weird after visiting the FNaF 6 building, to most first time players, the Glamrocks would seem to become murderous for no particular reason. However the emails from AR reveal the reason to us, that the Afton virus was uploaded to Fazbear Inc.'s main animatronic servers so all the replicas are now under his control, which Vanny later does to the Glamrocks as stated in one of the CDs. Without AR, it wouldn't be confirmed Afton had control of them, just that he was in the Pizzaplex systems, which might have just been part of the process of getting him uploaded to his old body.

Illumix has their reasons to not update the game right now. On their recent 24-hour livestream they said that they're in a spot where they can't really say anything whatsoever about its development. They never classified it as abandoned or whatever else means not updating the game ever again. It's just on a huge hiatus, I think.

This is why I think it's kind of critical going forward for the story to be contained to main series games and shown on screen. It's too unwieldy and too expensive to have to hunt through a billion scattered sources. They can still have secret puzzles to solve and easter eggs for people to look for that contain extra information, but all critical information should be on screen and playable from Ruin forward. The playing field needs to be leveled for newcomers and people who might have missed some entries. The idea of the multiple sources was cute at first, but a person should not have to buy an extra book or dig up a defunct mobile game to understand the game they just spent $40 on. That game should be a complete experience. It doesn't have to explain all previous games in the timeline, but you should not walk away from it confused about what was going on. I've bought sequels without playing their prequels before, and even if I didn't understand the greater scope of the series, I knew what was happening in my game that I bought, and was able to follow its story completely.

With franchises like Halo, Mass Effect, Star Wars, Star Trek, Firefly (while that was briefly around) and such, if you say something about the cross media spam and huge plot points being revealed completely outside the main franchise source, people just scoff or mock you for it.

I played FNAF AR for a week or so but haven't played since and only ended up watching gameplay from Dawko + Fuzion on new characters/updates, even when I heard there was lore I just ended up reading the Reddit or watched some videos - honestly when I heard it was being abandoned I didn't even realize it was still going. It wasn't even necessarily a bad game, I remember enjoying it, but being between Help Wanted (which was my favourite FNAF game) and the biggest most-anticipated FNAF game coming out soon in 2020 (well, meaning to) while itself not seeming to have much lore at the time, it didn't really feel like a "main" FNAF game, which I personally think (along with the time commitment you talk about) made it easier to miss and just skim over for even hardcore fans... but that's just my two cents on the topic :P Also during those first 40 seconds I kept nodding my head the entire time hahaha

This was a good video. I was aware how important the Fnaf Ar game was to the lore but understood that it was to time consuming for anyone to get into it. Not to mention how the Mobile game was handle in general. Scott Cawthon did say that he knew eventually the fans would dig up the remaining emails in the source code. So I guess he was expecting us to get the remaining information ourselves but still Fnaf Ar lore was not handle properly which sucks as it seems to be Super Important to Modern Fnaf.

Digging through game files is a bridge too far. I mean, remember how he used to hide messages in the source code for his website? That was fair game to me, even if it was a little much to find, but scouring an actual entire game - and one that got frequent updates at that - is way too much to expect people to find. Also, I believe that could technically be deemed piracy in some places depending on how the laws regarding replication and datamining are defined since hacking into a game’s code and copying it outside of it is a pretty gray zone if memory serves.

At this point it wouldn’t surprise me if Scott is now using the codes in his games to tell a hidden story or manipulate people into a false narrative. I think you've nailed the issue with Fnaf lore. I have a theory that for whatever reason, SW scrapped their original plan/plot for Security Breach at some point. Perhaps the AR game drew too few people and they realised people were not getting the lore and engaging as planned. If they had planned it as the way to deliver an ARG/SB teasers, low numbers may have wrecked their plans. Maybe they realised it wasn't sustainable or a worthwhile investment and they decided against growing/pushing the game and making it a key pillar of the series lore. It's also possible there were plot changes to make the game less violent ("you are broken/bleeding") and they decided against explicitly having Vanessa/Vanny show potential violent tendencies as a character. If that's the case, perhaps they even scrapped AR's lore completely. Who knows whether to regard it?

I remember back in 2014 when there is only one game and the theory was that I was based off of a shooting or some sort of killing in a Chuck E. Cheese after it closed, and that just fit even when I go back and watch that theory I still get chills. It just worked really well but then it got more complicated after the third game I would say. You it used to feel very connected like I understood the story but now I feel lost I’m very disconnected I’ve stopped caring about the games only because people keep making theories, even though we were right and Scott decide to change his mind. I want to stop, and think maybe there isn’t any lore. Maybe it’s just a creepy horror game which just seems to have lore but is just creepy for atmosphere. God I miss the old days.

I don't remember if I read this or heard it anywhere, but the version of Funtime Freddy in the blob is specifically the version from FNAF AR, with it's completely different looking endoskeleton whenever it pops its faceplates open compared to the Sister Location or Help Wanted counterpart. Could be looking too far into it and it was probably just a design change who knows anymore lol

That's what I love-to-hate about Five Nights at Freddy's. It's fun and interesting, but it isn't welcoming at all for new players and/or fans. If you're not into researching beyond what you're getting in the actual game(s) you're playing, it just isn't for you. The same if you're willing to spend more time and money into outside media such as books. It's just sad that even if you do, you still don't know what's going on and you're not getting a detailed story being told to you. At least not anymore, not since Pizzeria Simulator at least. In my opinion, this isn't something exclusive to FNaF AR or Security Breach. The entire game series isn't welcoming to anyone without interest beyond what you get on the actual games and if we're being honest, you don't get all of it on the games.

@@aubergineman3205Not really. You can play the main Assassin's Creed games (just to name one example) and you will get the story of the game. You don't need to read any of the books, dig into website codes, etc. to figure our what the name of a character is or have a vague idea of what the next game will look like. Try playing just the main FNaF games *for the first time* and just like FuhNaff said, you're still going to walk out not really getting what happened and what's currently going on. It's part of what makes Five Nights at Freddy's special. There's more than what you see. ...but there's no denying it's not for everyone and it's hard for newcomers to truly enjoy the games for their storytelling.

That’s why to me the game started with FNAF 1 and ended with Pizzeria Simulator imo. You don’t need the books or to dig in files and source codes to understand the lore if you’re just playing the first six games, plus you can get a decent story out of them and a pretty satisfactory ending as well. It’s incredibly hard to top Henry's speech at the end of Pizzeria Simulator and judging from the latest game, Security Breach, it probably won’t ever be topped. Meanwhile all the other games after PS only serve to make the story worse, and the books don’t help in that regard either. At this point the only reason why I even watch FNAF theories is to see how this dumpster fire ends lol.

You don't know who Elizabeth is why she wouldn't remember her name. I bought the book at the store it has details on everything and it was very helpful for just a good sit down and read about lots of different things, way to beat games, and lore and secrets that I missed or was just to lazy to find or deal with, and I read all the emails through that book it’s such a cute book and has got a lot of helpful things written down in it and the recipes are so cute!

FNAF and Kingdom hearts have the same issue where there are too many plot holes and many elements getting retcon in some way and needing to play/read other media just to somewhat understand the story, at this point in the FNAF franchise they need to start giving us more answers instead of many questions. They also need to let William stay dead and let a new villain to take over because now he's not really a threat just annoying 🤣 I'm hoping that if they ever decide to reboot the series they return the horror elements.

The big problem with mobile games is that they're monetized based on the richest of the users. The free users will get an experience but the whales are being charged to pay for the whole thing. It's a very lopsided equation that is built into the monetization model on purpose, and part of the pitch to investors. I'm not sure if Scott and the FNAF AR team realized the extent to which micropurchase-based mobile games have an uneven playing field and a very unbalanced user experience by design. That's the only reason for "daily" type gameplay instead of binge-style gameplay and it looks like they didn't properly think of who the audience was for FNAF the series, who won't be able to fully engage with this type of material. From the corporate side, microtransaction games always about "leveraging a market" or "targeting the right demographic," it's never about the series or its integrity. I wonder who made the calls when it came to FNAF AR's overall game design, and if maybe someone just didn't stop to examine whether the microtransaction-based market was even appropriate for this series and its younger audience.

I feel fnaf ar was a huge commitment, and wasnt executed properly. It could have been so much better, but since its a mobile game, some scummy companies are going to try and squeeze every cent out of the game. I know they were trying to do the AR thing after the VR thing did somwell, but i feel it was rushed and overdone. And besides, why hide so much LLOORE in a mobile game?

I can’t believe it’s been a year since it was abandoned, I never got into it but I do like how it tied in with the Vanny storyline so if you’re someone who couldn’t afford a VR game, you still got to see some story and I like the direction they were trying to go in with the AR. That being said, I can totally see why it was not well received and I wish they would’ve done more in that sense and I also wish that they hadn’t just abandoned it I feel like if they were honest about shutting down or what was going on. We all take it a lot easier, but considering they have said nothing it just sucks and from a fan/story standpoint it’s even worse because you spent like two or three years building up this Vanny character just to have her not pay off in security breach and if you want to go back to one of the games that goes to talk about her lore, it’s pretty much a buggy and gone.

Have u ever thought that the game was deleted because it was apart of lore. Seems weird that Scott didn't say anything about it and the company started selling crypto or smthn. Maybe it was because of the company (in the game) going bankrupt and in turn the game being deleted. Its either me going crazy or a great story telling jump.

I was so hyped back then when FNAF AR got revealed. I especially got excited when I saw that I got a golden ticket to test it early. I kinda loved the concept to be honest and never thougt it would be discontinued this early.

I found FNaF AR to be a really fun game, I didn’t find it to be lore heavy when I first played it. It sucks that it was abandoned by the developers, but hopefully they will return and fix the problems with it (probably not going to happen).

The modern time line really is a pain especially with fnaf vr and sb feeling like a massive retcon. It's starting to throw me off but I'm trying to ignore it while struggling to keep the memory of the lore from 1 all the way to pizza sim. FINALLY someone with influence presented the theory that the Blob is an amalgamation specifically of FNAF AR animatronics (I haven't seen your timeline video yet so this is my first time seeing this). That's an idea I've been considering for a long time at this point, idk if I initially thought of it myself or heard it from some other random person's KZbin comment but it's been in the back of my head for some time now, but no one with any actual voice seemed to bring the idea up as far as I could tell. This is nice to see...even if it's just yet another theory of what the heck the Blob is to add to the pile.

I don’t think FNAF AR has been abandoned but I do feel a bit of concern. I’ve actually began to notice something. Any time I watch KZbin videos of people reacting to all of the fnaf trailers, there’s one game that is usually forgotten in the video and that is FNAF AR. I honestly made so many good memories with 2020 FNAF AR and loved the skins that were released. I remember being excited to find out what the next skin or character would be and I especially love what they did with Golden Freddy’s release. I never really understood the hate Illumix got in 2020 given the circumstances that we were all in and felt that FNAF AR fans in 2020 were too harsh. I really do love FNAF AR and I wish the best for Illumix but I can’t help but feel a bit concerned.

So I ran a discord server that was moderately big for the FNAF AR community to share their mods for the game, and it was thriving for awhile, but when the game slowly stopped getting content, the current owner made their own game, and now more people are playing it instead of FNAF AR I'm not going to name it but its very popular right now and they have their own separate discord server from the one I used to be involved with and ran most of the time It's run by pretty prominent KZbinrs in the FNAF AR community if you just would like new content and gameplay, although I have not kept up with development very much because I left the community awhile back, just stayed in contact with close pals from there Just was kind of nice to see the game being talked about by ya! but good video as always

I personally didn't like the repetitive gameplay of Five Nights At Freddy's AR Special Delivery but there was a tone of lore which was amazing to discover! I also loved the skins, some skins even became my favourite non-canon FNAF characters. I just wish it wasn't so underrated and that the events got much more attention, these skins have the least amount of fanart and all the possibilities of these events can be such great scenarios for fan-made-stories whether it's songs, fanfictions, or animation series on KZbin... I'm disappointed in the missed opportunities for amazing and original ideas all from those events...

I remember trying to play this, but my issue was too many high level encounters and being located in the middle of no where. I wanted to enjoy it, but I had so much difficulty with just the basic controls and just maneuvering myself to try and ACTUALLY play the game... it needed to be fixed and for your level to dictate the encounters

that bit about the Blob from Security Breach was interesting but there's one part on the Blob that came from an animatronic that wasn't in FNAF AR, that being The Puppet since you can see it's mask as part of the Blob (though the mask is in a withered state without the purple stripes underneath the eyes. and as we all know, The Puppet wasn't in FNAF AR (then again neither was it's counterparts Phantom Puppet and Nightmarionne). And judging from the withered state of the mask, it could have come from Lefty since he was burned in the fire Henry set to free the souls from Molten Freddy, Scrap Baby, and Scraptrap (Afton), but as we saw in Security Breach the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place that Pizzeria Simulator/FNAF 6 took place at survived the fire, could it be possible that's where the Blob got the puppet mask from? (and potentially remnant from Charlie before she ascended to the afterlife?)
