In this video I participated in the Decode ME study by supplying my DNA sample through the spit kit and discussed the aims, values and process of the research with a member of the Decode ME team and fellow ME/CFS patient Anna (@teapartyform.e on Instagram).
This study is a very important first step into the research of the widely misunderstood illness of ME/CFS which has the potential to change opinions and open doors to further research in the future!!

Reminder: everyone with ME/CFS is different! So you or someone you know might have a very different experience with ME/CFS than I do at the moment! Also, remember that chronic conditions such as these can change dramatically over time, so my life may look very different to this in the future (and has be A LOT worse in the past).
Thank you so much for watching!! Make sure to like, comment, and subscribe to see more videos from me most FRIDAYS!

Thank you elinor. I had no idea this was happening and had almost resigned myself to the fact this would never change.

Thanks so much for raising awareness of this vital study! I'm unfortunately not able to take part as I'm still waiting for a diagnosis but it's so amazing to see the community coming together to start solving this nightmarish condition.

If you completed the questionnaire on their website then you will have been told straight away whether they will be sending you a spit kit or not. They have contact details on their website if you want to check with them.

I would recommend finding a local support group for patients with me/CFS. They probably know how to find a doctor near you who can help. I got my diagnosis from an internal medicine specialist, but that may be different in a different country
