Those tiny less than quarter-screen FMV windows for character interactions were a good workaround for the limitations of the Sega CD upgrade for the Genesis in the early 1990's. There wasn't enough room/bandwidth/CPU to have high quality full screen video on one CD. Wait, when was this made?

It was fun 14 years ago to be part of the teams that were going around and finding where all the digital assets had been stolen from. The unique Necromancer Boneshield from Diablo 2 as wall ornaments was one of my first observations. That was a far, far better time on the internet than we have now. 2007 was truly when everything started to go to shit. Thanks, Reddit!

Bro, you on crack? The devs clearly traveled through time to the year 2077 to steal the heights of the game engines of the far future. In 2077, Elder Scrolls Oblivion and Painkiller were in the public domain which explains all the stolen backgrounds from those games.

The FMV is too good for ps1/N64. Looks a bit like a late ps2 release, focused too much on FMV. Ps3 came in 2006. Ps3 was capable of a lot more... so 2008 release ment for old hardware lines up.

This game is *the definitive way* to summarise what dreams are like, if aliens arrive on earth and ask us what dreams are we should show them this and they’d automatically understand 100%. Edit: this game really is the perfect entertainment experience when your brain is not entirely functioning correctly, it really deserves a modern remake with assets that weren’t completely stolen.

I just realized something. Im like.. 99% certain that the character model is the very same model for Captain Nathaniel Hawk from Pirates of the Caribbean by Akella (which was released 4 years before this game) EVEN THE CHARACTER MODEL IS STOLEN! And whats even more hilarious is that briggans or whatever this characters name is, was a sea captain thrown into limbo, where as pirates of the caribbean (by akella) was solely made within like 8 months to be in line with the first movie release, which flopped so damn hard that it fell into obscurity. SO MAYBE THIS IS WHERE CAPTAIN HAWK WENT TO AFTER THE GAME FAILED!
