I have close to 500 games in Azuma and I find HE to be very effective on light cruisers if you’re struggling to get damage on them because of over-pens, or they don’t want to open up an angle. You aren’t going to dev strike them, but you’re going to get 10k+ salvos and fires. If AP doesn’t punish them, the HE absolutely will. Azuma hits like a mini conqueror.

Zao is the most fun cruisers to play at legendary tier imo as well as one of the best. It has the fastest shell velocity if I’m not mistaken, very accurate and its AP is good as well.

Oh my gosh, that was disgusting in a good way early on. Bortas played that terribly, Roma went full Yolo mode, and Fiji got lucky. Azuma is a amazing ship. Siegfried will do stupid things to broadside BBs as well from my experience. Light Cruisers get lucky more often than not. I would have went around the island instead of hiding. That is not how you should play a German BB in that situation, AP would have been my choice of ammo. People don't understand over match I guess.

Spartan everything struggles with light cruisers except Columbo/montana because of the volume of fire lol😂 welcome to Wargaming’s ingenious overpen mechanic where a shell the size of a small sedan does less damage than an Azuma HE shell pen

Just make overpens 15% instead of 10, all of a sudden BBs can now dish out what they are taking in return. Was a Bb main, have genuinely switched to radar crusiers and gunboat DDs, just because of their impact on winning vs a BB

this ship is Azuma is good when you play against bad players like those 3 who went for you and gave you their ships in the palm of your hand, but as soon as one is as good as Suzuja game over, sometimes you really have opponents who are only for TETRIS

I went full reload as inspirations to get my reload to 19 seconds with the legendary reload module, after that I’ve had my best games in it. It seriously does need to shoot faster, now I wish the turrets didn’t take 40 seconds to turn. The inspirations are only 10 and 11 respectively so it can probably get down to 18 or so, 16 if you get full module buff. Had my best game it so far at 186k with 3.5k xp It still needs a turning distance buff and it could accelerate a bit better, maybe do something with the AA distance I still find wargaming throwing my god damn shells into the fkkkn water and over penning light cruisers -through water- sometimes. Oh and I wish Yamamoto didn’t trade a heal for 5% reload

I use Arpeggio Takao with all turn speed skills on this ship, and i have a turretturn well under 30 sec. with the azuma. There are much more suitable captains for this ship than Yamamoto.

It's been that way since day 1. I also wish they would distribute radars more evenly instead of stacking them all on one team. Oh, and just get rid of fail divisions entierly. No one benefits from them, all they do is punish the rest of the team because someone has a crappy friend that won't drop down a tier.

I dont understand this game. give me a light cruiser and no matter what ship shoots at me, every shell touching the ship ends up being a citadel. you get overpens 99% of the time :D and yep, teammates are often not much fun nowadays. I wrote about our team with a blue yesterday. he grabbed B solo(shimanto). I grabbed the c cap solo(atago). 7 out of 9 ships(including carrier) went for 1 cap and still failed miserably.

Big sad that you made a misplay at the end there. Even if you weren’t able to turn away still the best choice is to go all back full. Torps much harder to hit and/or easier to dodge in reverse. Just gotta control the panic urge at 10:05 to go back to full throttle.
