i am just wondering, why are the fractions always having 1 subtracted from them? if 2 counters are taken, shouldn't there be 2 subtracted from the total rather than 1? does this apply to numbers above 2?

Hi, I understand why this bit can be confusing. Let's say we have 10 total counters and 5 blue counters. If we take one blue counter first, that's probability of 5/10. Since we've just taken a blue counter, the number of total counters has reduced by one and the number of blue has also been reduced by one. This means that when we take the second counter from the bag, our probability will be (5-1)/(10-1) or 4/9! This does work with numbers above two, so if you were to take a third blue counter, the probability would be 3/8. Also keep in mind that you only reduce the numerator by one if that same colour has just been taken before. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching! :)

Hi, it really depends on what you think you need to work on in Maths. What's stopping you from getting good marks? Is it silly mistakes, misunderstanding the question or not knowing what to do? I think once you understand what your weaknesses are, try to work on them. There are loads of helpful videos everywhere on the internet that can help you, and you can always ask teachers at school!
