The real heartache of MUGEN is that the AI can range from "mentally stunted poultry" to "coked up mom at a hockey game" and there's little to do about it. The best solution is to find some victim to join you in screwing around on it. Maybe a podcast buddy?

22:30 - Thud is from Dark Edge, that weird 3d fighter that uses sprites. So the Mugen maker threw out like... 90% of their frames as they don't need the rotation.

Having experience with creation in MUGEN myself, It's always interesting to see how difficult arcade modes in fullgames like this can get when haphazardly putting together characters from different creators to form a roster without a way to adjust their AI, especially when some of these were clearly meant for AI vs AI or otherwise "optimized" play. Also a guilty pleasure of mine to find these games, putting my own characters in them, and seeing how they fare lol EDIT: Oh right, as a quick aside, there is a super meter - For some reason the super "meter" is on the top written as "Level X" to keep the World Warrior aesthetic. Not the most functional of super meters, but it's there.

Hey, since you have experience with mugen, there's one thing I'm curious about: the crazy damage discrepancy in this game needs to be adjusted in each character moves (as well as their healthbars) or there's an easier way to fix it?

@@Xurelbes It's a super easy fix - For this game in particular, whoever put it together had the bright idea to have the health set to 160% the normal health in the options, so putting that back to 100% makes it so everyone has their intended health - As for adjusting people's health, that's as easy as going into their .cns files and looking for a line that says, surprise, "life =". In which you can freely modify. As for changing damage, it's a bit more involved as you need to look at individual attacks which are in seperate "states" but you could theoretically just look for anything that says "damage =" and adjust that accordingly as more often than not it's just a flat number anyone with Notepad can adjust to their liking. So long story short - It's easy enough that anyone with Notepad and no coding experience can do it, but it's tedious for a roster of this sice.

Oh this is nothing compared to the endless depths of the MUGEN barrel. I've got some barely functional build called MUGEN Legacy that has thousands of characters. The character select screen gives each character like 4 pixels and the game takes a solid 5 minutes to load to the main menu.

The big downside with Street Fighter mugens as opposed to MK ones is that, because Street Fighter is more about the flashy super moves, the designers made damage pitiful so you can do many super moves per match. Against a player, it can be fun and give opportunities to see multiple supers, but against the computer, it drags every fight.

This is a mugen compliation, rather than a full game, so there’s no rhyme or reason and almost none of the characters belong to the same creator. The ultimate street fighter characters come from their own mugen project which is still being worked on. Also I think you could upped the damage in the options.
