Just finished this! It took me roughly 4 hours for the toddler size ( I hate slip stitches with a passion 😒) Haven’t fastened off or closed the top because said toddler is sleeping! Lol. Final fit tomorrow to make sure it’s all good before I fasten. I don’t understand why some people comment that it’s confusing. For such an intermediate project your instructions were more than clear and precise. I think people would benefit of working one row at a time and pacing themselves without looking ahead in the pattern to decipher it. It’s actually very easy! And what a neat seam! Love it! Thank you!

Truly an interesting hat! Coming from a surgical background, I find that recognising "stitch anatomy" is as important in crochet as it is in surgery! Failed to recognise some important anatomy in my first two attempts, frogged, corrected and think Im getting there! Thank you so much for the pattern

Definitely want to try this pattern. I refuse to make a hat from the bottom up because I hate they way they look all bunched up at the top, but I love making top down hats with their smooth finish. Thank you very much for making this pattern available. The pattern really does look interesting. I am hoping to crochet a hat for my youngest son. He does appreciate the effot I put into hand-made items. And we unfortunately have been alienated from each other due to unforseen circumstances, so I try to make special items for him so that he has as much of my love in every stitch that I can put into it. He actually asked me to make a hat for him. He has hopes and plans of starting a YT Channel as soon as he is able. I was searching for a nice pattern, and this one seems to be exactly what I was searching for. Thank you for sharing.

Very interesting indeed. I have knitted lots of hats, but the one that I have worn and worn for years has been one I knitted sideways (neige eternal pattern) with short rows. It's by far the most comfortable as easiest to knit as there's no awkward part of knitting a circle with just a few stitches. This is a very similar technique and I had never thought of doing the same short rows in crochet, so thank you so much for your video!
