I’m very confused with this pattern, I started off good, but I’m confused about the jumping back and forth with the pattern. I absolutely love the look of this hat. I would love to make this. I think everyone could use a step by step tutorial on this hat.

Do you have any plans to make this less confusing? I've read alot of comments where people are confused. I purchased the pattern and am now stuck because of the way you say to jump back and repeat the "Crown Segment 3 times. Your photos jump back a lot , but you don't really show more specific detail. I am just flummoxed and now feel that the pattern is a waste of my money. 😢😢😢😢

Truly an interesting hat! Coming from a surgical background, I find that recognising "stitch anatomy" is as important in crochet as it is in surgery! Failed to recognise some important anatomy in my first two attempts, frogged, corrected and think Im getting there! Thank you so much for the pattern

Amazing! I am definitely not a beginer knitter, however, I am a little intimidated by this project. Your instructions felt a bit hurried, so I have to go back a few times to make sure I am getting what you are doing. (the triangle etc). But, it is so pretty, I'll give it a go....

Thank you very much for making this pattern available. The pattern really does look interesting. I am hoping to crochet a hat for my youngest son. He does appreciate the effot I put into hand-made items. And we unfortunately have been alienated from each other due to unforseen circumstances, so I try to make special items for him so that he has as much of my love in every stitch that I can put into it. He actually asked me to make a hat for him. He has hopes and plans of starting a YT Channel as soon as he is able. I was searching for a nice pattern, and this one seems to be exactly what I was searching for. Thank you for sharing.

Very interesting indeed. I have knitted lots of hats, but the one that I have worn and worn for years has been one I knitted sideways (neige eternal pattern) with short rows. It's by far the most comfortable as easiest to knit as there's no awkward part of knitting a circle with just a few stitches. This is a very similar technique and I had never thought of doing the same short rows in crochet, so thank you so much for your video!

The pattern is slightly confusing, but the video tutorial does help. I have tried a 5mm, 5.5mm & 6mm hook with a #4 yarn and cannot match the row and stitch gauge stated in the pattern. I tried to make a toddler size hat with #4 yarn and a 6mm hook and it turned out measuring 14 sts=4” and 22 rows=4” (way too big!). Tried making a gauge swatch with both a 5mm & 6mm hook. If the sts match gauge, the rows do not and vice versa. Do you have an6 suggestions?

I made this hat earlier this year from a pattern by Trish Young. She called it the Slow Hat. It is really fun to make but I found that it stretches after washing. Beautiful hat. This is a good tutorial if you do as she says and follow the video with the written pattern. But I had trouble at the "insert hook through the chain loop" part. I couldn't see which part of the chain loop to hook through. There was no obvious loop to go through in my work Otherwise I was able to follow along. Update: The picture on the website helped and I was able to approximate. Thankfully this goes faster as you get the hang of it. I almost quit at the beginning part. I wish the written pattern had the rows numbered. When it only says "Next Row" it can be confusing.

Final fit tomorrow to make sure it’s all good before I fasten. I don’t understand why some people comment that it’s confusing. For such an intermediate project your instructions were more than clear and precise.
